From 1933 to 1945, Nazi Germany's government led by Adolf Hitler promoted a nationalism that combined territorial expansion with claims of biological superiority—an "Aryan master race"—and virulent antisemitism. Driven by a racist ideology legitimized by German scientists, the Nazis attempted to eliminate all of Europe's Jews, ultimately killing six million in the Holocaust. Many others also became victims of persecution and murder in the Nazis' campaign to cleanse German society of individuals viewed as threats to the "health" of the nation.In this discussion the focus is religious not racist.

Jehovah's Witnesses were subjected to intense persecution under the Nazi regime. The Nazis targeted Jehovah's Witnesses because they were unwilling to accept the authority of the state, because of their international connections, and because they were strongly opposed to both war on behalf of a temporal authority and organized government in matters of conscience.
Within months of the Nazi takeover, regional governments, primarily those of Bavaria and Prussia, initiated aggressive steps against Jehovah's Witnesses, breaking up their meetings, ransacking and then occupying their local offices. By April 1, 1935, the Reich and Prussian Minister of the Interior ordered the responsible local officials to dissolve the Watchtower Society.You can examine the antipathies of Christendom for religious hatred. The same hatred expressed here. It's nothing new.
Christian Persecution of Jews Over the Centuries
When the Nazis came on the scene in Germany they were able to draw upon the legacy of Christian anti-Judaism even though biologically-based antisemitism went well beyond classical Christian anti-Judaism by arguing for the annihilation of the Jews rather than only for their misery and marginality. Christian antisemitism provided an indispensable seedbed for the success of Nazism on the popular level. It led some Christians to embrace the Nazi ideology and many others to stand on the sidelines as masses of Jews were exterminated.
1648-1649 Christians under the leadership of Bohdan Khelmnytsky rampaged through the towns and villages of Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Galicia, and White Russia, murdering and torturing an estimated 90,000-100,000 Jews, and destroying at least 100 Jewish communities. Dozens of synagogues are burned down. Jews are hanged from trees alongside pigs and dogs.
In 1710-1795 , the churches continue to preach that the Jews are guilty of decide and are still being punished by God by not having their own homeland, and by being deprived of citizenship in the countries where they live. Churches continue to present public Passion plays, in which Jews are portrayed as the bloodthirsty killers of Jesus.
The bogus saints Simon of Trent and Little Hugh of Norwich, bogus victims of cruel Jews, are still venerated. The filthy image of the Judensau still decorates churches and cathedrals. Pamphlets, broadsheets, and books continue to demonize Jews. Even though Jews have been mingling with non-Jews since ancient times, cartoons show them with stereotyped racial features, and as cruel and bloodthirsty. Obvious connections are that people here paint Jehovah's Witnesses as a cruel agency and the Watchtower Society should be dissolved.Because Jews were less susceptible to the Black Plague than their neighbors (likely the result of Jewish ritual regarding personal hygiene), Jews were accused of poisoning Christian wells, were thought to be the source of the plague. As this image illustrates, Jews were expelled, tortured and murdered for the "crime."

i had spent nearly forty years as a full time representative, serving at every level of the organizational structure.
the last fifteen years i had spent at the international headquarters, and the final nine of those as a member of the worldwide governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

Use common sense: Nobody that volunteers their time and effort at Bethel uses any of the money that goes into the organization for luxury items including the governing body, unlike any other organized religion and their leaders. I have trusted family and friends at Bethel and I've been there many times. It's only the slanderous gossip of apostates that pick at something so stupid like “miracle wheat.” You'll believe anything you hear if it's negativity about Jehovah's Witnesses but your going to have to better than that if you want anyone but compulsive liars to accept it. -

DC 2010 Release - The Origin of Life and its many misquotes

it is completely appalling.
it is at the very most six grade level and just the first references i verified (which most dubs dont do) have been taken out of context, are completely misquoted or in the example of using the encyclopedia britannica a dated version is used rather than the most recent one, to align with what they want to write, rather than aligned with the newest research.. .

How does humility imply agnosticism? Are you also surprised by scientists who are atheistic instead of agnostic?
I am a theist because I believe it provides the greatest metaphysical explanatory power with the fewest non-trivial assumptions. I feel that naturalism, while a plausible and logically consistent worldview, ultimately runs into too many difficulties to be taken seriously. I do not assert this with a sense of brute dogmatism, but rather as my personal view which you are welcome to challenge (how else can I learn?).

If one insists on holding out for a scientific answer, then you will never find the answer. Any proposed explanation for the origin of the universe will be metaphysical and outside the reach of empirical science, whether it is theism, a string derived model, or turtles all the way down. -

Brother Russell was interested in anything related to the Scriptural prediction that the desert would blossom as a rose and the earth yield her increase. So, when the public press reported a new and unusual strain of wheat, called “Miracle Wheat” by its original grower, Brother Russell reported this in The Watchtower, along with a government report on it. Some Watchtower readers contacted the grower, who was in no way connected with the Watchtower Society, and purchased some of the wheat. When theirs produced seed they offered it as a contribution to the Society. The original grower sold the seed at $1.25 a pound, so they suggested their contribution be priced at $1.00, and all the money received be given to the Society. The Society made no claim for the wheat on its own knowledge, though it won several State Fair grand prizes before it wore itself out. Brother Russell neither named it nor profited from it; the money went as a donation into Christian missionary work. When others criticized this sale, all who had contributed were told that if they were dissatisfied their money would be returned, and the money was held for a year for this purpose. Not a single person requested it back. The only critics were those who had no real knowledge of the matter, which was purely a donation sale for the benefit of the Society—as open and aboveboard as a church cake sale.
With such lies and perverted facts the critics condemn themselves. They would not like to be classed with the ultramodernists who accuse Jesus of being illegitimate, but they stoop equally low regarding other men whose lives were spent unselfishly in God’s service.
Don't even put the spin on the “miracle wheat” crapola. You seriously need to grow up. You have zero interest in God’s service and know it. There was a time when I didn't either (that's how I know) but at least I was honest about it and didn't psyche myself in believing lies and perverted facts as an excuse for selfish ambitions. If I'm so intelligent how did I get drawn in to it all?
by Lozhasleft ini consider myself an intelligent woman...maybe not strong on the 'common sense' front, but academically i've done pretty well...so...how on earth did i not see through it all when i was studying in the beginning???.
i remember worrying about their 'sales pitching' styles and their arrogance of believing they had the 'truth' ...but still i got involved and became totally immersed in it all.
i feel like i sacrificied our whole family to them, who now shun me.. yesterday, my new son in law, he's a lawyer, asked me how i could have believed it wasnt a cult (topical word this week here) he said he didnt understand how i could have been persuaded to believe it all and trust them with so much and for so many years...... i feel ashamed of myself that i did and that i brought all this upon our family...anyone else relate?.
