Isn't it a bit odd that she's the ONLY one allowed there?
It was said that this trip was planned months ago, before the current situation.
a prominant news woman is in nk this week and doing interviews i wonder how the nk will use it as propaganda or the us.
what's your take on this?

i have seen the idea floated a few times in some interesting places, but also on threads here.. i think she would get the vote out in a way it has never been gotten out before.
it would also throw all the pollster's margins of error way out of whack (which might be worth it, all by itself).. why do you think she should be or could be elected president?.
why do you think she shouldn't be or couldn't be elected president?.
Sure, why not? Would her opponents be able to dig up any dirt on her? I think even Oprah's negative's far outweigh any other candidate's positive's.
there was a post on the other day someone was asking about whether the wt monitors websites such as this and other "apostate" sites.. unfortunately i couldn't find it to add this to it.
i remembered a jw who worked on installing computers at london bethel, some time ago telling me that the wt did monitor websites.
this jw is gradually fading away from being one, so can't say to much about him.
Gordy, everything he said makes perfect sense. This had me wondering though:
BTW did you spot the society mole in that discussion - he stands out a mile
I sure hope he wasn't referring to me. If he wasn't referring to myself, who else stood "out a mile?"
i don't know if this was already posted, but i have gotten it a couple of times now from friends who are still active jws.
clearly it is ring the bell time, as you can tell by the notes taken.
enjoy.
Brother Anthony Morris of the GB asked 'when the son of god gives a command, are we going to listen'? He was referring to the instructions at Matt 24:17,18
Yeah, I'm sure when Tony said "...are we going to listen," he followed that sentence with a big wink. Because we all know(and so does every jw) that Tony thinks he is one of the "son[s] of god." And when he gives a command, he expects everyone else to follow it.
i was having an interesting conversation with another witness who's nearly faded away.
he made an interesting point that corrected me and.
touched my heart.. i wondered aloud if there was "any limit to how stupid the organization could collectively become".
One of the bigger problems the WTS has, and will continue to have, is the lack of true feedback channels and then making changes to better the entire organization according to that feedback. It seems that the only feedback bethel *might* listen to is from the DO's and CO's. Hardly a true measurement of "happiness" in the org. As with most large corporations today, many of them have instituted some sort of rating/feedback program to show where the company and it's managers can improve in certain areas. And as with all companies, if the employees are not happy, their work quality suffers which in turn brings down the overall quality of the product that the company sells/provides.
This is not how you run a business:
i run into 6 sisters today .
i would guess poineering.
figured i'd stop and give them a try.
The next time I'm out in NY, you'll have to take me "street witnessing." I don't even see witnesses anymore. Either they do their best to hide from view after spotting me first, or else they just don't go out in service around here all that much.
if it's true that the society is starting a special campaign against "false religion", we may have them at our mercy!!!!!!!!!.
think about it: if they are stupid enough to print some cheap tract that shows churches and 'stars of david' as 'false religion', we may.
be able to cause enormous trouble by sending these to all public agencies dealing with intolerance and prejudice.. more than that, by posing as witnesses, these tracts may be sent to various people and groups with accompanying letters.
So how did this all turn out now that we know what is contained in the tract?
from one language or one continent to another very similar words often have very different meanings.
perhaps notions too.. one striking example (for a french user of an english forum) is the political/economical use of the notion of "freedom / liberty".. for instance, "liberalism" in current english seems to be fairly equivalent to "left-wing" (on almost any issue, whether moral, social or economical).
in french, liberalisme points to low state involvement in economic or social issues, which is clearly a right-wing doctrine.
As I understand, private property in America is perceived as the very basis of individual freedom. We tend to consider it as a potential cause of social inequality and alienation.
I don't know if I would call it "individual freedom," but rather, "materialistic goals." In America, you are judged by the clothes you have on your back, the car you drive, the neighborhood you live in, and the restaurants you eat at(plus a zillion other items). If I said I lived in East Lansing, drove an import vehicle, shopped online for my clothes, and ate at Dusty's Wine Cellar, people would classify me as a Liberal Democratic Snob. But if I lived in south Lansing, drove a GM truck, bought my clothes at Wal Mart and ate out at Pizza Hut, people around me would see me as a Patriotic Republican whatever. I know for a fact here in Lansing, if you drive an import vehicle, you are partly responsible for the job losses(automotive industry) in this state. There is definitely an alienation between the people who live on one side of the town compared to the other.
Real estate is the ultimate sign of wealth in this country I believe. A big ass house on a huge plot of land. But what if your house just happens to be in a town on the water where the state/city wants to build a new shopping center? Eminent domain. The gov't can take away what [seems to be] is rightfully yours.
just got back from the special one day assembly and had to share this important info.
only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.
i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.
When I was baptized in '91, right before we went into the changing room, a sister asked for my name and if I had been baptized before. At the time I thought it was a very odd question. "Why on earth would someone get baptized more than once" came to mind.
from the dubs.
after being cornered and tired of the games, i suggested kevin elder meet me and i would give him my letter of da.
he doesn't know it has been posted on this forum and on jwfacts site for a week or better, and that i sent many copies of it out to former friends last friday.
Once it's official, it feels as if a great weight has been taken off of your shoulders. It's an amazing feeling. enjoy it.
