Is there 20 questions or something like that
by MartynAndrew ini know in aa they have questions like have you missed time from work because of your drinking, spent too much money, lied to loved ones.... is there such a thing as 20 questions if your a member of a destructive cult?.
1. you are not allowed to read this since you can't read outside information.. 2. you can't question the leaders or beliefs or you will be removed.. 3. black mail and bribery are used(like the mafia) to control.
second death vs. paradise.. 4.... if there isn't one i'd like to create one-with your help- and pdf for easy hand outs at memorial time.

Welcome...
by transhuman68 infor ex-witnesses coming to this forum one of the strangest revelations must be that there are no answers, unlike the usual watchtower study.. the end of the certainty they had enjoyed as an faithful dub must be unsettling.
it is inevitable, as we come from all corners of the earth, and we.
have each come to our own conclusion as to what truth is.

wars, famines & pestilence... 1914. load of rubbish
by Aussie Oz injust as jesus predicted, his presence as heavenly king has been marked by dramatic world developmentswar, famine, earthquakes, pestilences.
(matthew 24:3-8; luke 21:11) such developments bear powerful testimony to the fact that 1914 indeed marked the birth of gods heavenly kingdom and the beginning of the last days of this present wicked system of things.2 timothy 3:1-5. this is lifted from the jw website article on 1914. it is not funny how they fooled so many of us.
i read this and went:.

Philosophy - Alain de Botton
by yaddayadda ini must admit i enjoy reading a bit of philosophy now and then.
nothing too heavy going, mainly condensed versions of the great philosophers and lighter, modern stuff.
rousseau and schopenhauer are my favourites because their prose is so enjoy to read from a literary perspective.

For AUSTRALIANs, if TELSTRA phones you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by finallysomepride inhi.
if you recieve a phone call from someone saying they are from telstra or any other telco & they ask to put into your phone 90# don't apparently this will open up your long distance for them to use & you won't be aware of it until you recieve the bill.. i was reading about this scam yesterday in a inter office memo of a sub branch of a government dept, it originated from victorian police.. i don't know how true it is, this may even be a hoax letter, you never know, i know one thing for sure i certainly won't be co-operating with them.. fsp.

The Mystery ofThe Last Supper by Colin J. Humphreys
by smiddy ini have just read a short review of the book with the above title and i quote :" the last week in the life of jesus christ has puzzled scholars for centuries.what, for example did jesus do on the missing wednesday?why do three gospels say the last supper was a meal celebrated during the jewish passover while the fourth gospel(john) claims it happened before passover?".
anybody like to make some comments on this?.

Armageddon out of here...
by transhuman68 ini guess nearly all of us believed in armageddon, and we believed that it would occur in our lifetime.
we didn't have to worry about planning a career, or saving for our retirement- the new system would be here by then.
somehow we had been chosen to be the generation that would live forever.
