from personal experience i know it usually happens at the end of a district convention.
it would be either the do, co or an experienced elder.. they usually go through everything that was said throughout the dc and thank jehovah for this and that...... last year i used my stop watch to record the time taken by our do,.

The reference to suicides by daringhart13 made me think of a year ago, my last time to set foot in a KH. One of my old JW friends that I hadn't seen in years killed himself. I went to the hall for the services and I swear to you, it had absolutely nothing to do with my old friend Tom. The elder giving the eulogy (if you want to call it that) used the opportunity to invite all new comers to start a bible study the whole time. He talked about how Tom was active in the preaching work and that he was doing God's will.... and I'm thinking to myself, he just off'd himself and you want to invite people to follow in his path? -RIDICULOUS

Thank you for the advise. I will definatly investigate the dates and FDS connection or lack there of. I am not planning on confronting my brother with any concrete evidence until I am as Cameo-D said, "on solid ground". I have been shrugging off any sort of therapy because I have felt that unless a person has been through this crap they wouldnt know how to advise me. I have been aimed in the right direction by some of the genuine people on this board. I plan on reading all the suggested books. Most of all just being here reading posts from people who understand the WTS and the pain it inflicts has made me feel like im finally home. -Ryan

OH BOY -we have gone round and round. Our arguements would always end in them trying to disprove other religions when that wasnt the arguement to begin with. My brother would always say either you believe the bible is the word of God or you dont. Then he would follow up with who is the FDS if its not the WTS? Because I couldnt tell him who the FDS really is he would walk away with a sense of victory and power. We havent had a discussion about his "truth" in over two years.
My Mother and older brother have disowned me 10 years ago and that was the best thing that could have possibly happened to me. My younger brother talks to me all the time and it gets stranger than fiction. He attends meeting gives parts the whole nine yards. He is constantly reading the propaganda and he seems to like it, Only he is more "worldly" than most people I know. He drinks a lot, he's always in bars, and I'm pretty sure he's been snortin' coke with his 30 something witness buddies.
I just sit back and wonder if his behavior is because he is losing faith. Just when I think he's breaking out of their grasp... There he goes back out in field service and my hands are tied. Its just sad Chris.

I have a question, What is the WTS take on illegal aliens? I work with two brothers (siblings), who both go to a spanish Cong. They put the awake mags on their desks like they read them or something. The owner of the company who is my friend has told me that they cant go to San Diego to bid on work because they don't have papers to get past the Escondito check point. I have been curious about this for a while. Is it a don't ask, don't tell concience matter?
