ladies, since maverick posted his topic, i just had to post one for us ladies!
in fact, i wanted to just share a nightmare basically on the same topic, that i had last night.............just a refresher course on my status: i was a dub for twenty-five years, met a worldly guy when i was 18 and he came in to the "truth".
we dated, then got married at 21. we were married for twenty years, then i told him i wanted to end the marriage.
Lucky us, we lived within a mile of the kingdumb hall. So we just walked back and forth, even in the winter, even in rain.
Do you know how embarassing it is walking to the kingdumb hall all dressed up, with bible and books in hand, and having half of the neighborhood kids walking with you asking where your going and why. I couldn't say 'church' and when I'd say kingdumb hall that just made them ask more questions.

i've just read in another thread that due to circumstances the secret santa for this year hasn't been able to happen, so i want to try and organise another one!.
according to the lady at the post office, the closing date for international mail to be delivered before xmas is this week, but for post on the same continent we still have a few weeks so i'll try and take that into account so everyone can have their prezzy before christmas day.

i've been noticing more an more that i'm more athiest than anything else because i don't have a gret attachment to god or spirituality.
ive mentally grouped it as a pseudoscience.

I was told when I was disfellowhipped that there was no reason for me to pray, because Jehovah would no longer be listening to my prayers.

some people left the organization because of the united nations scam, 1975, the "generation" change, child abuse issues, not feeling the "love" of the brotherhood, etc.
in all honesty, is there something----that if it hadn't happened----would have kept you still in?
for example, if the child abuse issues were resolved properly, perhaps, some of those that left because of the mishandling, might still be at the meetings.
The first two times I was disfellowhipped, I went back because, my family still spoke to me...The third time, that wanted to set a example and teach me a lesson. So they stoped having any contact with me . So, just maybe if they had treated me the same as they did the first two times I might have came back again.
Instead, I made new friends, and met strangers that treated me better then my family and so called friends had ever treated me.

i was probably putting the cart before the horse, as we were still living together.
i recently decided that i've dragged my ass long enough, and today i told my wife i would be moving out.
Divorce is never easy, even when both are ready to go their seperate ways....But a year from now, you'll probably wonder why you didn't do it sooner....

Whew! That makes me feel better. I thought she was Lisa Vegas for the longest time. When I met her at Steve's last month she was very sweet and gracious when I told her that. I just blamed it on a poor IQ, never thought of old age.
