If any evidence existed that CT Russell was the nephew of William Huntington Russell, it would have been posted and clearly revealed to the world. It would truly be like having the winning lotto numbers. But, as Nathan said, "Do youself a fovor and READ what Barb Anderson learned from the Pennsylvania Masons. EXAMINE the geneology given above that shows that CTR was not the nephew of William Huntington Russell. These are the facts, get to know them. Let your worldview be congruent with reality".
CT Russell was a plagiarist immersed in new age religious beliefs, and he adopted, borrowed, and stole from various sources steeped in mysticism and the occult, including Masonry. He was a religious teachings whore and combined many facets of what he read, and came up with a form of religious Jeet Kune Do, passing these teachings off as his own original material, inspired of God and His spirit direction. He was the equivalent of the forum user who pretends to know stuff, but is simply a copy and paste artist. It’s only impressive to those who don’t understand how google works, or who isn’t well read on a particular topic. The Bible Students who followed Russell were astounded at what Russell preached. They had never heard such things before because they were lazy-ass followers, infants needing to be spoon-fed. The trend continues today; 7.2 million Jehovah’s Witnesses can’t check a fact to save their lives.
The truth is that there is no evidence of Russell’s affiliation with Skull and Bones or Masonry. He merely, on occasion, when it benefited him, kissed Mason ass.
Now, if you can connect William Henry Conley or his father in law, Josiah Schafer of old Pennsylvania German stock, to the Masons or SaB, then we might be in some conspiracy business here. -

Jehovah's Witnesses Are NOT Under Mind Control
by PublishingCult inhow would you respond to the assertion that 7.2 million members of the jehovah's witness religion are not under any sort of mind control?.
the argument being that every one is responsible for their own actions and cannot blame the indoctrinator for what he says and does.
how could they possibly be under mind control?.

"So why is it that when the GB changes its mind 7-2 million JWs change theirs?"

To understand the context of the argument, you will have to watch propagandatechniques' video, Jehovah's Witness Under Mind Control and read the comments/arguments left by FredTorres1000. Fred is a JW and has a background in social work says he.

No, Alfred, of course I am not serious.
I am, however, trying to get ideas on how to deal with this sort of argument.

The role of the Home Bible Study arrangement in JW brainwashing
by MrMonroe ini've just started reading "year of doom, 1975: the inside story of jehovah's witnesses" by english author j.c. stevenson.
it was published in 1967 as basically a memoir of his years in the dubs, including time as a pioneer, and an explanation of the methods used by them to make the organisation grow.. it's not the best "insider" book i've written, but there is a section i've uploaded below that makes some interesting points about the home bible study procedure and why it is so effective at turning interested people into baptism candidates.
reading through this, i see myself back in the mid-80s sitting there getting led, week by week, into the trap.. this section is from chapter 2, "the seed is watered" in which he explains the typical process following a few return visits.. .

The Most Important Witness Meeting Is...
by metatron inthe theocratic ministry school..... well, let's see ... it's conducted by an elder who's stuck with the job and often doesn't want it.
the quality of the meeting keeps sinking over time as witlesses can't read well or explain more than a couple proof texts.
the "ministry" doesn't generate converts by itself, anyway..... the book study?

The ongoing, never-ending, doomed to repeat indefinitely and never graduate from, Theocratic Ministry School - which was actually nothing more than a sales training class where we learned and practiced bait-and-switch techniques for peddling the current offer of Watchtower publications.
This little JW version of a weekly sales seminary taught us how to knock on a door under the pretense of simply wanting to "share encouragement from the Bible". We learned how to bait householders by innocently reading a passage from the NWT. Then, The Switch! A scripted canned presentation on the Watchtower publication offer, a magazine or book "designed to encourage Bible reading". -

"Who else are we to go away to?"
by simon17 into the intellectually honest witness, it seems like it often comes down to this principle.
"fine, if the witnesses aren't the truth, then show me the better answer and i'll consider it.
" and how do you deal with that?

How have your opinions changed?
by LovelyEunie inhow have your opinions changed on subjects like premarital sex, gay marriage, higher education, music, smoking, interfaith marriage etc... and do you think they have changed for the better?
personally i feel like everybody has the right to choose their own path, free to make their own choices outside of the jw's and everybody within their religion needs to deal with it and move on, like they expect everyone else to do when they made the choice to become a jw.. i have no problem with homosexuality, seeing that i'm bisexual myself; i used to hate it when my mother would get angry with me because i wouldn't tell my gay friends that it was wrong and disgusting and one day god was gonna killl them kill them for it, when she knew i was too, it was hypocracy at it's finest.
smoking is so not a moral choice to me, it's a health choice.

premarital sex = love it
gay marriage = adore it
higher education = gotta have it
music = didn't know what I was missing
smoking = trying to quit
interfaith marriage = don't think I could ever marry someone who believes in God. Too weird. It would be like being married to someone who spent most of her day making sure she was doing things just the way Santa would want them done.
My entire life and perspectives have changed. Nothing scares me. Very few things are taboo. Nothing much offends or upsets me these days except violence, bloodshed, child abuse, bigotry, corruption, racism, homophobia, and willful ignorance.
Edit: I, too, am way less critical and judgmental of others, and I am probably 5 X more moral and ethical-minded than when I was a repressed JW. Love the irony there.
