I hear that same song and dance every time I speak with my mom or dad. It does get really old. It is sad to think of them fretting and waiting, worrying and anticipating it all the time. So good to be free of it, but so sad to know that they are still holding on to the teachings of the Org.

My First DC 'Mentally Out'
by breakfast of champions inas the title indicates, the 2011 summer convention was my first one 'mentally out', and wow!
how can anyone stand this stuff?
demons, demons everywhere: yes, evidently after jesus kicked satan and his big hornets nest full of demons down to earth in 1914, they're all mean and nasty and just around every corner!

I have thought about trying to catch a day. Just to see how it all sounds since I have been away. I am almost certain that it would reinforce my decision to leave. And, I think that would be good for me. Just to see how crazy it all sounds and know that many of the teachings really don't jive with common sense. This year's sounds like an appropriate one to go to for that purpose!!

Job suffering A ridiculous story.
by jam injob a man blameless and upright, one who feared god, and turn away from evil.
the fact that he is just and suffering breaks the logic relating god, evil, and the suffering of israel.
for ancient israel the logic of suffering then they must have sinned.

Jgnat and Band on the Run------ I have no children of my own, but from my little relatives, I feel that I understand the love between parent and child to a small degree. Even though children were viewed differently in different times, I still feel that we are born with an instinctual bend to love our offspring more than ourselves. The story of Job just sounds downright cruel to me. Also, the NWT says that Jehovah cannot be tried with evil things, nor will he try anyone with evil. Even though he didn't personally cause the things that happened to Job, he did basically make a wager with Satan, and allowed him to cause these horrible attrocities in Job's life. I never did understand it....

It always bothered me that God rewarded Job with more children. As if new children would replace the old ones and make life better than before your other children had been killed. Yuck, its like the message goes..... "Children can be replaced after a tragedy just like a big screen TV. Isn't that great?!!!"

RagingBull---- If you'll notice the punctuation in Charilko's post, you will see that the comments were more that of a sarcastic nature, and meant as a mockery of the Org....

An elder in my old hall was cheating on his wife with a sister in the hall, and he tried to pass her a love note DURING THE MEETING, which his daughter intercepted, and they all ended up rolling around on the floor fighting over the note!!!! Good times....

I walked out of an Elder's Meeting
by AlmightyDog inwell here goes... i apologize in advance if this turns into a long and disjointed rant, but i just have to begin typing in order to keep from exploding.
i realize that what im about to say could seriously jeopardize my anonymity, but i think ive reached the point that i just dont care.
i want this to be over.. let me explain what caused me to rip up a letter and get up and walk out in the middle of an elders meeting two weekends ago.. our boe has been embroiled in a nasty fight for the past 2 years over a certain brothers business dealings.

AlmightyDog--- Very brave thing you did there. Very few would have the courage to make such a strong statement. Sad that the elders' minds were too dull to see the meaning of your actions. The family thing is hard. I am two years into the fade, and starting to wish I would have done the ripping the band-aid off quickly thing. But I don't think I had a good enough outside support system at the time. The family thing is hard, but I like what you said about showing your kids that they have another choice. I admire your strength and passion for the truth. (and by the truth, I do not mean the ORG!!!!)
What you said to pnt1 was HILARIOUS! loved it!
