we have to let go and love ourselves. then we can feel loved and this love will prompt us to love others.

Sad news from Maui

we don't have much in the way of details - but heard some devasting news that ari (well known to seattle area exjw's and i am sure by many on the board) killed himself sometime over last weekend.
he was so excited about moving to maui, and starting a new life here.

i never thought i would see the day when the person at mcdonalds in atlanta ga couldn't understand my order given in english. but the world she does change.
I saw a map of the US with counties marked in red if they had a Hispanic majority population, looked pretty much like an invasion from the south.
don't get me wrong though, i think its a natural flow and should not be stopped.
we live in a competitive borderless world now.

Well, what Buchanan really bemoans is the Death of the Caucasion Christian West. Yeah, he's right it is dying. Maybe they ought to learn inwardly to see what the problem is instead of trying to find a scape goat like gay marriage.
Minorites make up 30% of the US population. 13% Hispanic 13% Black 3% Asian and 1% Other
Minorites make up more and more of Europes population, mostly black, asian and arabic.
Rich people have less kids. There is an imbalance in the distribution of the weath of the world. Poorer nations will continue to have more kids and they will want to immigrate to the US.
The world she is a changing. gay marriage will have nil effect on it.

here's some truth for you truth seeker.
gay marriage will never become the "norm" because gays only make up about 5% of the population and only a percentage of them are in relationships.
birth rates are declining because women don't want to have kids. many many of them choose other life paths such as singleness and careers.
gays have never and will never be a central driving aspect to where a society goes, since we will always be a small minority.
unmarried heterosexuals, divorce, abortion, the women's movement to be freed from oppression are all changing society dramatically.
these are the main factors. gays are just along for the ride.

Elders sting operation on myspace
by troubled mind ina certain young person told me last night a jw friend of his from n.y. received an elder visit .
the suspect was told that the elders had been lurking about on myspace and had caught several young ones with accounts there .
they told this person's account was benign yet was counseled it was bad association to be on myspace.

Brokeback Mountain is an extraordinary film in that it presents life from a perspective that has never before been captured on film, that of 2 men who find themselves caught in living society's proscribed life and finding that it does not work for them because they are homosexuals. That particular story has never been told before. It makes the film unique. Add on the fact that they are cowboys in the early 60's and the film puts the characters into a more difficult situation. Its a good story. Annie Proulx writes really good stories.
There have been about 20 main stream releases about homosexuality.
The top 3 money makers are
The Bird Cage - About a committed couple one of whom is a very effeminate drag queen. Very entertaining for its camp value. But relied totally on gay stereotypes for humor. All the way to the bowls with boys sodomizing in them. I enjoyed the movie because I am at the point in my life where gay stereotypes no longer make me uncomfortable because I have found Joel the homosexual and know who I am. However for a 13 year old struggling with his homosexuality, I think the film would be very disconcerting.
Philadelphia - About a man dying with AIDS fighting for his job. Phenomenal film. Heartwrenching. The part that makes me sob is when they show the pictures of Hanks' character as a kid right after he dies while Neil Young is singing that haunting song. A lot of people complain that oh, it shows sick gay men. Well, that's part of gay history now. I have found out in the last few weeks that 2 more friends have recently tested HIV positive. Can't deny the truth. AIDS is interweaved with the experience of being a homosexual and this film captures how it feels better than any other.
Crying Game - About a transexual and the man who loves her. Identifies gay men as those who want to be women. In reality a very small minority. But of course oh so a curiosity.
