i was reading the following page:.

can a jw still be df or da for taking a blood transfusion, if they are not "repentant"?.

Because that is what is expected of you. The "career path" of a born- in who is under a microscope generally leans towards pioneering out of high school, becoming a MS at 19-20, kissing butt for 6-8 years and then appointment as an elder. Don't underestimate the pressure that is put upon these young men. The congregation and Circuit overseers will groom and encourage young servants to reach out to be elders. I think that the intense pressure comes from the congregations desire to see a "success" come out from the young ones in the hall. Most kids split after they are out of school. This puts more pressure on the ones who stay to become the superstars that their peers weren't.
I know for myself, I didn't want authority, power, and prestige as an elder. I just wanted approval and acceptance from the people that I had known my entire life.

is there a possibility that the watchtower will be split into two opposing camps at sometime in the foreseeable future?
judging from the past, do we envisage such a scenario happening before our eyes?.

i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.
Truman, I am so sorry.
a non-jw friend (whom i thought was sane) sent me this video:.

to summarise.
nope it is just as crazy as 1914.
See you in 2020!

yeah in the section on attending the convention, you will find this gem:.
"therefore, we should give attention to our dress and grooming while in the convention city, including when we check in at the hotel.
arriving in shorts and a t-shirt would not reflect dignity.".
I never knew Yosemite Sam was a witness!

Jehovah hates denim skirts, shorts and tshirts, beards and goatees, Skirts that go above the knee, blouses that scoop too low, ties that are too bright, dress shirts that aren't white, Pants that are too baggy, ears with more than one earring.
Talk about going beyond the things written. Jehovah sure takes an interest in fashion.

this is my first post on this forum, though it feels like i already know some of you here.
i have been lurking for a couple of months now, and i must say, there honestly seems to be more love and respect here than any forum i have ever seen on any forum of any kind.
i am 25 years old, married 3 years to my wonderful wife who is 22. we had a somewhat classic jw upbringing... which i now know has been our biggest problem.
I recently shared with my wife Alfred's notes from the Finished Mystery. I actually borrowed the book from the KH library and brought it home. She looked at the notes and checked the accuracy in the book a couple of times. It took her about 20 minutes to go through it all. Afterwards she was silent, and hasn't mentioned it since. I could tell though that she was stunned.
I think reaching our love ones is a process much like watering a garden. Low flow....slow and deep. Eventually the water reaches the roots, and then makes its way to the visible parts of the plant.
Best wishes

after reading much on this scandal, we know that many if not all jws will not go out of there way to read up on this info.
does anyone know what the rumor in the congregations are about this topic?
i'm sure alot of them are just taken back by fellow witnesses taking the society to court, bringing reproach on god's name.
Juan Viejo,
Of course its not a true rumor. I should have been more clear in my comment. the Watchtower only has one tactic for people who stand up to them. Attack their character with lies and rumors. I wish the Cobbs the best in this case. Juan you have a Pm
