What does this discovery have to do with whether God is confirmed or not. It seems really off topic.

JW women in critical condition after being attacked by pit bull while out in service

No, the dog wasn't doing its duty as trained. If it was, it was trained recklessly. This homeowner will be hit with a negligence suit for sure, at least if she has homeowner's insurance. You can't have a dog trained to viciously attack anyone who the owner opens the door to without any sign of aggression. What if it had been the local girl scout troop or someone getting political petitions signed or a delivery man?

My advice would be to stop diagnosing people with problems without having met them.

Are there more XJWs than JWs?
by punkofnice in......well, that's my question.. i have no stats to back anything up.
just putting it out there for thoughts/comments..

Just my own guess... if you count born-in kids and faders, yes and it's not even close. If you only count DF'd/DA'd former JWs, no.

Suspected Jehovah's Witnesses attacked by pitbull in the preaching work
by cedars inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtrdafq0xac.
i guess this sort of thing is bound to happen, even though the society implies that angels are out there protecting jehovah's witnesses from harm.. interestingly, it wasn't an angel who came to the rescue, but a "worldly" bystander with his gun.. .

It seems to me that at times there is a temptation to use tragedies to try to further the ex-JW agenda of proving Watchtower doctrine wrong, and in my opinion by using an apostate strawman argument at that.
Yes, they pump up the experiences when someone (allegedly) escapes harm when they are at the meeting instead of staying home. But JWs are never directly told (nor in my own anecdotal experience do many actually believe) that they have physical immunity from harm while preaching.

It seems that there was a sign. I knew a lot of witnesses who wouldn't go to a door with a beware of dog sign. I never observed anyone pressured into going, other than sometimes a female would ask if a male in the group wanted to go instead.
Personally, I find the thinly veiled gloating over this kind of thing rather distasteful. The same thing happened with the bus crash where several were killed. To be fair, I very rarely came across anyone during my time "in" who felt they were invincible or magically protected while in JW-sponsored activities, say what you want about the ridiculous illustrations in the rags.

Jehovah generously provides?
by Rattigan350 inthe june 15 2013 w pg 13, para 6&7 has an experience of a pioneer that needed $66 to pay her rent the next day.
she prayed and went to work at her job as a waitress.
when she finished her shift she had received a total of $66 in tips.
-

This is one of the most moronic experiences yet. $66 is probably right around the average amount of tips a server makes during an average shift at a crappy restaurant. Since when is God responsible for average and mediocre results? It's like thanking Jahoover that your Chrysler got 23 miles to the gallon on the way to the assembly.

Yes, I would agree that this only applies to Bethel workers. Also, as the article says, one of the reasons that they decided to settle might have been because they were afraid of the precedent that trying the case might set for future cases. So it's not even certain that they are liable under an agency theory.

Should The Governing Body Seek Psychiatric Help For Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
by frankiespeakin inhttp://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx36t.htm.
narcissistic patients try to sustain an image of perfection and personal invincibility for themselves and attempt to project that impression to others as well.
physical illness may shatter this illusion, and a patient may lose the feeling of safety inherent in a cohesive sense of self.

I get this, but haven't there been about 5 other threads on this exact topic in the past month or so?
