I was shocked that no one really knew about the 2008 change.

About the Adam and Eve time gap....
by Lozhasleft inwhat's got me a bit befuddled is this.... when eve was created she was physically perfect right?
and apparently god blessed them which counted as a marriage.
so....that means that satan's deception of eve must have been almost immediate?....because being perfect she would have conceived virtually straight away, surely?

According to JW theology she did not know what she was doing...she was the only one decieved. And yes the tree is just a tree. But God put it their and made the rule that they should not eat from it. Satan did use it for his own purposes, but it was still Gods tree and it was still his rule.
The time gap is interesting if you beleive Fred Franzs time line. If this were all true than I would have to say God wanted to make sure they were going to be loyal before he let them procreate.

Lozhasleft: They were being tried by God regardless of what James says, it wasnt Satan who put that tree in the garden of Eden. And how were they expected to fail? It was a test, they failed becasue they didnt follow the rules God did not push them one way or the other. To say they were expected to fail drags in the doctrine of predestinantion. As for the command to multiyply did God say "do it right now"? He told them his purpose but imposed no time line on them.

Maybe God would not allow her to get pregnant in the garden of Eden until they had passed the test...which they did not.

Why Would YOU Never Go Back To The Witnesses?
by minimus ini think my mains reasons would be i don't believe they have "truth".
and i refuse to allow them control over me..
-
PYRAMIDSCHEME
I would go back (God help me) if it was proven to be the truth, in other words God himself would have to speak to me and tell me they had the truth...we all know thats not going to happen...so I would not go back becasue it's all a bunch of B.S. until proven otherwise.

Blind Allegiance to G.B. supported by scripture?
by honorsthesis inhey everyone,.
i have been getting in on going debates with brothers in the congregation about the role of the governing body.
i feel that jehovah would not want us to blindly follow a particular g.b.

Comparing the Isrealites to the first century christians and even modern day christians is like comparing apples and beef-ribs..not at all the same. While the Isrealites worshiped based on law and a visible presence of God, Christians go on faith alone, so comparing Moses to the JW governing body makes no sense what so ever. Moses was able to prove his link to God...So far The JW Governing Body has not done that.

Russell's reasoning for his business? Last article in 12/15/2010 WT Study
by InterestedOne inon page 23, par 14 of the 12/15/2010 wt study, it says of russell:.
so he had decided to devote himself to his business interests, reasoning that if he made some money, he would at least be able to address the physical needs of people even if he could not help them spiritually.. did he really "reason" that if he made some money, he could address people's physical needs?
was he planning some sort of charity?

Unfortunatly the WT never needs and very rarely uses historical references.
