  The imperfect men card drives me nuts. It is the bandaid to cover all sins along with the Jehovah will sort it out in his own time.

  When my mum uses that I just say to her what makes them any different to any other imprerfect men who think they are doing Gods work. There is nothing that sets them appart at all since although you say they are appointed by holy spirit they still make the same mistakes as other religious leaders and abuse power.

  Since you leave it to god who is supposed to judge all men who claim to be leaders of faith then they are no different to anyone else.

  The holy spirit is so often asleep at the wheel as to not be there at all.

  Should I date someone that is very Pro-Jewish?

  there is a girl that i like and she has been emailing me recently.

  we have not met each other just yet.

  she is jewish and she is very involved with jewish organizations, etc...should i be concerned about it?

  Religion can be a pretty big deal but at the moment this is barely a relationship. After all the fact that you are not a jew may be a deal breaker for her.

  The doctor tried to help her but she had restricted the treatments available and died as a consequence. He was not to blame if he had rejected her she would have tried somewhere else and the outcome may have been the same.

  My mum had a similar operation without blood and was extremely anaemic after 8 hours on the operating table. This is not a simple procedure for the staff involved. If witnesses accept the risks prior to the operation then they cannot complain afterwards.

  How We Come Across On The Board

  most people here have never met you.

  we converse, discuss, argue, laugh, agree, question, share our lives..... quite often, you kind of get to know what a person is like.

  some people, we tend to gravitate to and others, we shy away from.. how do you think you come across to other people?

  i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

  not well at all.

  i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

  It is no wonder that things have caught up with you, the issues you have had to deal with are extremely distressing any one of which could have brought you to your knees. The fact that you carried on so long was remarkable. You need to allow yourself time to recover mentally and physically for your daughter, your mum and dad and ultimately your son.

  This is the time to focus on you and your health and well being. Take the time you need you can call any time if you need to.

  You have done so well and will do so again, there are people who care about you, whatever negative stuff is said about you in your struggles you are an important person to us.

  No privacy they are constantly in company of other mormons. The constant pressence of the elder listening in and his clinging missionary partner (friend) does not show the religion in a good light. You have seen a happy healthy young man deteriorate through this process. If I was his mum watching this programme I would have serious concerns.

  Josh looks mentally distressed. Their living conditions are as basic as they come. I also was surprised to hear that the missionairies are unpaid but expected to contribute £600 to the mission.

  I am sure the maths for the accommodation, starvatioin rations (£29 per person per week to include food and haircuts) means the church is making a profit.

  So the church pays £3016 to feed the missionaries but receives £6000 from each missionary that equates to £2984 profit per person on a mission.

  i never believed in evolution as i thought it didn't make sense and that what was proposed was simply impossible.

  I always take issue when a non believer in something seeks to instruct believers in what they believe or how they understand something. If you are reading textbooks then you will be aware of the need to cite sources to back statements. Therefore where is the scientific research that demonstates how most believers in evolution inderstand the process.

  Otherwise it is merely your opinion.

  a sense of responsibility

  do parents here feel a strong sense of responsiblity for raising their children as witnessess?

  an xwitness friend was saying she and her husband feel very bad for having brought up their children as witnesses and they feel they want to make amends but are unable to do so.

  what advice would you give them.

  There was no reassurance that my son would not be judged adversely for not attending the meetings. Nor any idea that I could work for the salvation of my son. Other witnesses have suggested I attended a different hall or get someone to look after him whilst I went to meetings. This does not address the underlying issue. Why should this religion be exclusively for the fit and healthy? What is the problem with inclusion and tolerance? It is a selfish faith with everyone for themselves rather than a faith that cherishes everyone and seeks to make their faith accessible. It seems to me the message of damn the sick is at odds with the general view of the gospel message.

  The bottom line is there is nothing wrong with my son, but plenty wrong with the religion. I thank my son for helping me to see the actual harm the doctrines cause to those who are most vulnerable. It helped me to take the decision to examine my faith more deeply and see that it not only harmed my children but offered nothing of spiritual value to anyone. My time is better spent with my son and daughter than being indoctrinated into publishing company.
