I share this hoping motivates some into some bible reading, and stimulating your critical thinking. Is the concept of the tree of life and knowledge of good and bad anywhere in the bible? Read Ezekiel chapter 31, the entire chapter. I thought possibly could be symbolic, from many other things, but I ran into that. (although 'some' things in the bible, seem to have been or least shown as actual events, with a symbolic future fulfillment)

Now most all Christian faiths I 'think' teach it was all literal. Know JW's do, being one, so also put that there, so those who no longer believe in anything in the bible (IF) it is based off of "well I can't believe Genesis happened that way, so it's def a man's book", might take a look again if they knew perhaps that it's 'true' message could not be found reading it that way.

GROUP PROJECT!(any programmers?) - lets find ALL possibilites for 666, with computer technology

back in the 1st century, when iraneus said that many words can equal 666, including latinos and titan, that spending much time to get them is pointless until it's actually taking place, and it will just serve as a 'confirmation'.

they also didn't have computers and could spend forever trying to come up with every possible scenario.

we can easily, with the right resources do that fairly easily.

Yes actually..........Irenaus mentioned Titan equals 666 as well. Titan Titan (pronounced /'ta?t?n/ , or as Ancient Greek: Τ?τ?ν ), or Saturn VI.

Titan is known as Saturn 6?? And the planet Saturn may represent Satan? (check it out, some interesting stuff)

i still go to a few meetings a month just to keep members of my family happy.. the witnesses seemed to be getting all worked up about how close the end.

it sorta feels like the 1975 era only 35 years later.

2012 highly doubt will be the 'end' BUT BUT BUT, some interesting things about it..........

supposedly that's the date of the 'new age', and i think that when Jesus was born, that was the date of the last age. Also......a perfect alignment of the planets, which scientists say the gravitational pull 'could' do something to earth, even small chance of reverseing the north and south pole.

Will be interesting to see what happens if anything.

BOHM, thanks for that last comment. I was adding more work then neccessary, could use digital dictionaries for Hebrew/Greek ( I say greek because the book of Revelation was written in greek ), also need a complete file of 'names' in greek, then convert them to the numerical values, and sort by total sum, and grab the ones which equal 666.

Again, I this isn't something important to do, if anything just serves as confirmation when it actually happens or is happening, unless happening now, doing it won't be much benefit, and if it will take too much hassle, i won't do it either.

why do trees and animals die, since they didn't sin?.

dpg - just that thought of 'who got payment' brought some things I recently read to mind........scriptures speaking of Satan getting a hold of us / man because of Adam listening to him. That puts us in his bondage. In ancient Israel, with the goat offerings, one was sent to azarael or a name sounding like that, which I believe is in another ancient book a name for Satan. Jesus death could be payment to that one in a sense for our sins and taking possession. When he dies, and for 3 days is dead, he gets the 'key' and when he is resurrected, he now has the key, and the authority to release from the bondage of sin/death. - all of that just popped in my mind as a possibility, I have to actually read the scriptures now lol.

i really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.

i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.

i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

gutted - I've found, and it 'might' be God's intention, there is nobody to turn to so far which I've seen, that you must turn to him, it's a major test of faith, and try to have his spirit teach and instruct you, and look for like minded ones.

Instead of looking to humans for the answer, do a lot of prayer and reading the bible, see if you begin to feel his direction.
