Both movies are funny in there own way.

TMWSAG because of the way it portrayed hippies and free thinkers along with hardliner military stereotypes and conspirapy artists.

i was referred to the above mentioned book but never thought it necessary before to read.

i am starting the 3rd chapter now and all i can say is wow!

what happened to me has happened to many.

How did no one stop this before Ray Franz? Am I wrong or is it no different than the Pharasees trying to protect their position by trying to eliminate The Christ?

Please help re:objections to Thanksgiving?

what are the standard jw objections to thanksgiving?

do they claim there is any kind of a scriptural basis for condemning it?

i plan on asking someone about this and i'm curious what types of reasoning they might try to throw at me.

How about "just come eat some turkey, watch some football and be thankful that we thought of y'all" They may object to saying a prayer with those who don't pray to Jehovah by name

I was referred to the above mentioned book but never thought it necessary before to read. I am starting the 3rd chapter now and all I can say is WOW! What happened to me has happened to many. I remember when Ray Franz was DF'd and when the news made national headlines. He was ambushed like I was (and so many others). I think it was Mark Twain who said "A lie is half way around the World before the truth can even pull up its pants". I couldn't believe how many so called "friends" believed the lies about me without so much as even asking to hear my side as well. Now I see why. It starts from the head and goes down.

What is my legacy?

as i was cleaning my house last night, i was boxing up all my jw literature i still had out in the open...and i was surprised how there was so much!!

i still had the videos in plain view, my bookshelf in my computer room was full over old kms/watchtower & awakes/bibles, and found my old mtg and service bags still full of literature too!.

so i throw the majority of it out, box up the rest, and then when i'm done and relaxing, i start thinking about what my legacy will be.

Sucks to be treated like that doesn't it? Be grateful you have non-judgemental friends here. I never had that in the 3 years since I left.

What Drove Me Here

*disclaimer* this was posted on a 2 year old thread and a friend suggested i start a new thread with it to introduce myself.. .

i discovered this site by accident when i was actually looking for a site to date ex jw's (probably because i know that we could relate and if they were as repressed as me growing up, they would be as horny and kinky as i am if not more so - yumm!).

i also believe that he will take care of all things in his own way.

Witness girl in the metro

this morning on my way to work, i saw a girl reading a new world translation in the metro.

i live in paris and i don't see witnesses very often, except occasionally holding out magazines in the street looking grumpy.. i had the urge to talk to her.

my reaction is different every time i see witnesses.

I had assumed my step Brother was inactive because he liked to have premarital sex with his lady and smoke pot all the time
