wasn't there one of those stories years ago about some poor starving pioneers or missionaries in some remote place - just hanging on by a thread so hungry and some turnip truck went and flipped over and they got to gather all the turnips and ate them and lived happily everafter?

Can you think of ONE teaching of Jehovah Witnesses that hasn't changed since the religion started?

i believe the non-belief in a trinity goes back to Russell and has stayed put.....some basics - no hellfire...no trinity....no immortal soul....that's about it. oh and that the bible is inspired of god...foundation core beliefs.

okay, so this means that a sister has to speak to a householder when on the platform, so she isn't addressing us herself and teaching us something.

back in the really olden days - 40's and 50's sisters sometimes were accounts servants, literature servants or magazine servants if there weren't enough brothers. when i was a kid there was a period of time my mother was a literature servant....she had to keep her hat on behind the counter, and answer to the congregation servant. she made rate because her father was anointed.

Jesus asked "who REALLY IS the faithful and discreet slave?".......just thinking about that phraseaology gives me the idea that no one really knows.......and it appears that a certain group who always believe they are on top of things continue on still trying to figure it out to their advantage....and in the process becoming increasingly catholic.
but, people accept structure, which in itself is not a bad thing, and they like hierarchies for some odd reason....and of course, a select few love to lord it over others. yet "all of you are brothers, and your leader is one, the Christ"............how do you structure an organization justly - with equality for all and leadership without self-glorifcation?
