well - my take on it is that we are all responsible for our lives and to live them to the best and fullest. use our talents to the benefit of society - be kind, compassionate and fair-minded.

If you believe God exists, what are your thoughts on what pleases him most?
by Fernando inour family has come to believe that god really wants each individual to personally and independently seek, find and walk with him - quite apart from what other humans say, think, believe or do.. we believe we were created as semi-autonomous beings.
when our inner compass is recalibrated, and we then self-direct, the outcomes seem best.. when we are instead led by humans, their hierarchies, organisations and ideas, the outcomes on the whole seem unfavourable.
legalism (rules), moralism (a moral code), ethnocentrism (doctrine), and gnosticism (knowledge) may seem meritorious.. yet these do not seem to lead to the deep inner transformation needed.

Are Texas women cows?
by kurtbethel inlikely not, but this one is acting like one, and it's a good thing.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2223665/mother-wins-guinness-world-record-breast-milk-donation-pumping-86-galllons-help-premature-babies.html.
a mother in north texas has been awarded a guinness world record for donating breast milk.. alicia richman, 28, from granbury, pumped over 86 gallons between june 2011 and march 2012 for donation to the mothers milk bank of north texas, a nonprofit that supplies neonatal intensive care units.. the vast quantity equates to 11,000oz - to put it into context, a typical newborn's feed is around 3oz.. she told cbs dfw: 'i pumped at work, on vacations, in the car.
and i never had to buy formula.'.

the REAL life - because this one is unreal, of course......
stack of bones and a hank of hair - courtesy of the misogynist judge
if you're part of the world, the world is fond of what is its own - so.....if a worldy person likes you, that means that you are part of the world, hence you are bbbaaadddd...so you better become hateful to that person so they won't like you anymore, then the world will not be fond of you and you may even be persecuted which is the "goal to strive for"
run the fine race
fight the fine fight
armageddon is soooooooooooooooooooooooo near right around the corner

How often did you entertain the "Traveling Overseers", and did you regret it afterwards?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini found taking the traveling overseers out for a meal, to be a waste of time.
our literature regulary spoke of the upbuilding talk the local congregations received by entertaining our brothers.
now some of the modern cos look at their telecommunication devices, talk of things not related to our ministry or phone it in.

well.....growing up we had them stay with us, and had a lot of fun actually - but the two couples that i remember were really nice. lunches got problematic later on because it seemed that all the wives had allergies to this that and the other thing........a lot of them wanted to eat lunch at the hall to save precious time for banging on doors. dinners - some who would stay at the apartment at the hall would want it delivered to them rather than going to someone's house. there was one who loved the eatout thing....he befriended my hubby and me because he was very enthralled with my grandfather who was 'anointed' - and he thought we had $$$. he wanted us to go on trips and cruises with him and his wife too.....she was a real wuss.....in the 90 degree heat and humidity she insisted that everyone wear pantyhose.....and if that was too uncomfortable, her suggestion was the antiquated garter belt. yeah, that's real comfy.
this same couple stayed at my aunt's house when they served her congo. she had two bedrooms that were her daughters, who had long married and moved out. well in the middle of the night she is awakened by some noise....come to find out, they are switching mattresses on the beds because they decided they liked one room better than the other - but the preferred mattress was in the other room. last time they stayed there.............this one too - she'd go into the hall and crank up the thermostat because she was always sooooooooo chilly.
long before i escaped i had quit volunteering for the food service - i was working full-time anyway....and some of the couples that were coming around were not my cup of tea. they basically were way too entitled....like you are so privileged to be able to feed them.....in general, too many were convinced of their superiority.

reading a life time of WT literatrash = College education
by Free!! inor at least that's what my super jw ex-roommate told me when i try to have an adult discussion w her about the importance of a higher education... according to her (a girl that never finished hs because it was not necessary) she has a better education than any college graduate because the jehovah has used the borg literatrash to teach her many many important things.... she says her knowledge of the "truth" is the equivalent of my 4 years of college education..... .
.
is there a cure for stupid???!!

The anti-education stance is the worst thing to foist on young eager minds. I was an A student all the way through high school and had to forego college, which was always a bitter pill for me to swallow.....all the more so because I could have had it paid for......but if I went to college, oh the horrors - I'd have sex...I'd not be able to go to all the meetings and FS.....and oh the evils - I might become a godless evolutionist.
Years - YEARS - later....and a fantastic husband, I am almost through and will have my bachelor's.....and am moving straight into a master's program. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The personal satisfaction in success has brought my self-esteem back up to a normal healthy level (murdered, trampled by the born-in life...it's all you know and you accept it as 'truth'....untill you start to put the pieces together...).
Suffering through stifling brain-deadening repetitive elementary-school level materials, typicallly conducted by a moron who can't even speak proper English, was the worst. The "heaviest" material ever produced in my opinion was the old Babylon book. That was actually rather interesting....but I suppose that and everything in it is old light and no good anymore. Anyhow, there is absolutely no parallel whatsoever with a real education and reading the awake of all things.....so they toss in an article about some weird monkeys on an island somewhere....how is that enhancing brain power? and my very pet peeve is the total lack of scholarly protocol. citations missing, statements pulled out of the air with no backup whatsoever....it is the furthest removed from critical thinking and scholarly presentation you can get!
