Enjoy it! Its great to finally do something and not care what the witnesses think. Last week I ran up and hugged a Santa Claus just because I could!

Come all Ye' Faithful... and tell us how God has answered
by AK - Jeff inprayer.. billions of people have been praying for hundreds of years for peace.
other billions pray for happiness for mankind.
not one evidence exists that he hears or that he cares.. can anyone provide solid evidence that god answers prayers.

Im not sure what Perry is implying. I can say that I don't think you got what you had coming, I think she's most likely gotten what she had coming. We parents do our best and sometimes our kids do the stupidest things that just make us shake our heads.

Kids...........enough to make a parent nuts! I have been going through this stuff, too. I have two sons. I raised them as good little witness boys. The oldest was in the ministry school at a 5 and wanted to spend his days out in the ministry with the pioneers. The youngest was shy and meek, always obedient. Once they left the "organization" they went nuts. Of course, active Jw's would say it was because they left Jehovah and they are under Satans control. To that, I say "Bull^&*("
I'll just talk about my youngest for now. He got involved with some really bad people and was beat up and left for dead under an apartment stair well. He dumped those "friends" just to make new friends who were involved in crime. One bad thing after another. He guaged his ears to 2", pierced up his face to the point of looking like a tackle box exploded on him. He got some weird, depressing tattoos. His myspace was full of violent pictures and comments about death & suicide. I couldn't believe this was my sweet boy, who
I include my kids in my prayers everyday. Based on what I believe, I asked for God to just open his eyes so my son would see where his life was headed. Recently, my son had finally had enough, he came around to seeing he was headed down a wrong way. He's moved home, took out most of his piercings, had me cut his hair (Im a barber) , he stopped all communications with the jerks and he even went to church with me. I believe God answered my prayer as far as opening my sons eyes, but it was my sons choice to do something about it.
He still has to pay the consequense for stupid stuff he did, but thats how we learn. I'm sorry about your daughter, I hope she'll come around to her senses one day. Im so glad her kids have you and your wife. I don't know if she was raised a witness or not, but as for my kids, I think they were so restricted that when they finally got some freedom, they exploded like a pilsbury can and just wanted to experience anything that wasn't witness related. My best to you and your family.

I Have a New Method for Dealing With Ridiculous Assumptions
by AllTimeJeff inmy one disclaimer is this: to my theistic friends, i am not saying the following to be disrespectful of your beliefs.
however, since i don't believe as you all do, it is only honest of me to present this.. i bring this up because i have been caught up lately in debates that i normally don't involve myself in.
i have been left a little drained and confused as to why i allowed myself to argue a point till its beaten to a bloody pulp.

I think honest, frank discussion is good. I can do without the arguing, though.
If an opinion is asked of me, I answer it. Some don't like or agree with what I have to say, and that's ok, most likely I don't like or agree with what they have to say either, but Im interested to hear their honest opinion none the less. I will "close the door" on arguing , name calling & the like, from here on out & try not to get to snippy myself. Im a fiesty little thing at times, but Im working on it.

Hi Grace, the organizers of that site also have a meetup group, which is a support group for ex Jws. Everyone is welcome, but it is christian based. For anyone who is interested the link is http://www.meetup.com/exjw-worldwide/. You have to sign up because the board is private.

If God Truly Cared About People Wouldn't He DO SOMETHING By Now?

Hi Jeff, I wont defend God, his people or his principles. I will just say I don't know. To say anything else would just be my speculation on my part.

Ok happy guy, that last post may have been a bit testy. I just woke up. Sometimes I feel like you are on the attack, and maybe you just aren't. Hard to tell peoples intentions through the written word.
Possibly we cant always necessarily understand God by what read either. Maybe we don't always understand the intent the bible writers had in some of their writings.
Sometimes I wish God would step in and stop it all, but if he did, he would be picking & choosing. To be fair, he would he would have to take complete controll over everything. How many of us would really want that? You would be forced to love a God, that you maybe you dont. You would be forced to do works for him that you don't want to. Would you be willing to sacrifice your freedom and give complete submission to this God, for the good of the world?
I wish you all peace and I do respect your opinions, and I do try to understand them. Im actually a very open minded person. I hope that if I continue to come to this board that I can receive th same in return.

Happy Guy, seriously, have you been infected by these worms? You seem to be blind to anything I've already explained.
Show me where science or anyone says that human steps cannot stop river worms. Is there science that says there is no insecticide to kill this fly? What about medications to treat it? Personally I think this river worm discussion is off topic.
God WONT personally kill the worms because its OUR responsibility to care for the earth. Read Genesis. The bible doesn't talk about river worms, but it does talk about cleanliness, Read Leviticus, it talks about caring for others, read Matthew. Im not going to give you just a single scripture, you need to read the books in context.
Im sorry you don't like the answers, take it up with God.
