  Not surprising......with women (and men too, well some guys anyway) sex is usually better with someone that is loved and trusted and that is committed to you and vice versa......well, it's supposed to be that way, right?

  I wonder how my wife would respond to those questions about my body.

  Personally, I have aways felt that, while having a "fling" could be exciting, for me the guilt and fear of losing my wife and family and reputation would hinder my enjoyment of it anyway.

  after reading many posts on this site, it seems we all share the same types of fears.while witnesses, some were petrified to give a talk in the theocratic ministry school.

  others were sick to their stomach to go out in door to door work.

  if the elders said that they wanted to talk to you after the meeting, fear would set in throughout the whole night.

  Downunderandout, isn't it amazing that you were told you lacked faith in Jehovah because you were afraid of dogs? Unreal, yet, of course, not surprising at all.

  I still fear things - fear of rejection, fear of flying, fear, believe it or not, of getting into financial trouble, fear of war and terrorism. And though I am working hard on alleviating this one, I still fear death.

  I would think the toughest thing, if one had close friends who are jws, would be missing their friendship - because as we all know, when one leaves or even becomes less active, those friendships become affected.

  Expansion is viewed, as we all know, as evidence of God's blessing. But lately. expansion has been meager at best in all but what are mostly third-world countries, or at least 'under-developed' countries.

  Also, other religions have grown at a faster rate over the past century. I believe there are posted stats on this at feeminds.org.

  did it seem that jw's truly valued and promoted the avenue of prayer as a real force in one's life?

  when you *sinned*, it was like you needn't bother jehovah with your pathetic self through prayer and a one on one with the almighty and receive peace and complete forgiveness via this precious privilege god provides.

  oh no....you should talk with the elders and let them handle your pathetic, sinful self and leave jehovah and jesus out of it.

  I don't pray much either.

  When the elders do handle some matter involving 'sin', they normally do ask if you've prayed to Jehovah for forgiveness. However, the religion is not really geared toward people seeking God's mercy on their own - they are supposed to get the elders involved. While this can at times be helpful, it often creates an atmosphere of fear and enforcement of sanctions.

  Tornado hit my brothers home

  my brother and his family are just thankful to be alive!

  sunday night with tornado warnings out through the state of tn.

  about 7:30 that night, my brother went out on the porch to look at the lightning.

  Wow Tink, yes, those storms were very nasty. I'm sorry to hear about your brother's difficulties!.....that's quite a story, and of course shows how uncertain life is.

  "Secretly relocated by the Watchtower leadership" (same thing the Catholic Church has done, which the Witnesses were always too happy to publicize), and of course, not one of the unsuspecting folks in his new congregation would have a clue as to what type of man was now in their midst.

  they claim that there's a 1 in 5,100 probability of being killed in a plane crash!

  I recently returned from a trip involving flying, and I tried to keep in mind the low risk compared with driving. Flying will always make me apprehensive though......there's just something about packing a tin can with people and luggage and then flying it at 39,000 feet that will always bother me.
