  Did you ever shun people when you were a dub? How did it feel?

  okay, i don't know lots of people that were df'd, but of all the times i've encountered df people when i was a dub, they actually blanked me!

  it was always something that i had fixed in my mind that the jws had dead wrong, even when i was an uber dub.

  i remember several times when i used to arrive late at meetings, and i'd make a point of getting eye contact with the poor dub at the back sitting on the naughty step.

  I shunned df witnesses. When they "repented" and were "accepted back" into the cong, I felt that the WTS was right in their treatment. But when a close friend got df and did not "come back", I felt like I was the biggest creep in the world in rejecting my friend because the WTS says to. Because of the WTS, I have lost all contact with my former friend. This still saddens me.

  funny convo my wife had, an old friend called who connected with her on fb.

  i was messing around in the kitchen when i hear my wife say jovially but forcefully "oh i dont go anymore cause my husband says its a cult!!!'.

  seams she was on the phone with a fence sitter she grew up with but that statement was amazing lol.

  How Many Hours Did You Spend Going to the Meetings and Ministry?

  in fact, i recently created a spreadsheet and documented how many hours i spent in total per week.

  cantleave you have brought back horrible memories. I remember one time being in an elder's meeting for 6 hours. I thought I was dead at the end. The CO told the BOE to limit it to 2 hours max. They did, but just had more of them. I could not believe all the time I spent doing work in behalf of the cong. The time wasted was gigantic. But the anxieties from cong problems aged me several years. The time away from family was heart-wrenching.

  hi all, i'm a long time lurker, ready to join in and add my two cents worth now and then!

  i was in the religion for 25 years, out now for 8, along with my husband, daughter, and son!

  i would have to say pretty much the whole time i was in i didnt want to be, pretty much "dreaded" all aspects of it, meetings, service, assemblies, and talks, i hated talks, man o man would i be grouchy the whole week i had a scheduled talk.. we didnt have much family in, but lots of friends and many jw employees, pretty much lost all that, down to just one jw employee left(thats a good thing).

  My birthday

  today i am celebrating my first birthday after dutifully refusing to observe birthdays, thanks to the jehovah's witnesses.

  not for as many years compared with most of you, but enough, and worst of all was that i dutifully refused even to celebrate my grandchildren's birthdays.

  that hurt me far more than them.

  I guess some family members felt it was ok to communicate to df if by email. Those tricky jws who try to get around the GB. The GB is trying to close ALL forms of communication among family. Next they will say that it is wrong to communicate through social media. The GB always tries to connect Jehovah in commanding such a wrong arrangement, when a God of love would never alienate one.
