John Chapter 3. How does it jive with JWs?

can anyone answer a serious question?

since jws set so much store by bible study etc., i was wondering how they explain away john chapter 3. specifically where jesus tells nicodemus you have to be born again by the spirit of god in order to enter the kingdom of heaven.

while i'm here i would also like to know about eph 2:5,6. it seems to me they work like trojans in order to attain a place in paradise- but this verse clearly states we are saved by god's grace and not our works.

to date i can honestly boast that my apostate enemies have failed to present any challenge which i have not been able to refute using the word of my god.. ok while i am not an apostate (never set foot in a kh)...i did have a talk with an elder with some evidence that though the gb does not claim to be inspired....they have in fact done just that.

i could see the wheels in his head trying to explain this away as he read it about 15 times over...in the end he just changed the subject in classic jw form.

And, more over, how can authority over his household give you the authority to use HIS name

Uh, I believe there are bible scriptures that specifically handle people who claim to speak in the name of Jehovah.. I can point them out to you if you wish...

And, while I'm at it, you never did answer my question about the following scripture:

"1 John 4:18 - There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love."

You are all missing one very important point here:

Regaurdless of the numbers not adding up, the logic not making any sense, the historians being able to prove that what they claim cannot possibly be so, the WTBTS KNOWS via god's holy spirit (At least until corrected with a flashing light -- kinda like a blue light special at Kmart) that the statisticians, mathameticians, scientists, historians and any one else who disagrees with the current blue light are all wrong..

Note, if you disagree with the blue light ahead of time, you are still wrong, even if later proven to be right, which of course can be wrong later on anyway.. Wow! I got a headache again...

The bible states clearly that in 1935 the 144,000th person was selected to be in Heaven with Jesus.. Oh, and while I'm on the subject, where do you people come off stating that the 144,000 referred to in the bible HAVE to be male virgins??? No-Where is that stated in the bible..

You either are adding to or subtracting from the words of the bible, a clear no-no!!!

Satan obviously has a hold on you for you not to be able to clearly see that statement in the bible, and clearly see that the 144,000 were NOT referred to as male virgins!!!!! It's so obvious that it actually makes me stomach sick to think that people cannot see it??? [8>]

this is addressed to the jw lurkers.....according to my brother, who is a devout jw, no "good" witness would be found on this site....but since he's a jw, we'll assume he's naive....... dear jehovah's witness:.

my family, whom i love, is comprised of jehovah's witnesses.

i was never baptised, as anything, but attended meetings for years, until i turned eighteen.

As usual, the statement is true, however, they allowed it to be misleading to people unaware of what it really means.. That is a perfect example of Theocratic Warfare Strategy before our very eyes!!!

Since I know what they really mean, I wanted to 'force' you to acknowledge it's true meaning.. Seems you were agreeing with me, and I didn't even know it :-)

Isn't it true that the "love" you have for all your JW friends is based on conditional acceptance of the organization.. If you were to turn your back on the organization, your friends/family would no longer talk to you (shun you)? (I believe alot of the 'apostates' on this board can verify that treatment)...

So, isn't there a 'fear' that if you do something wrong, you will lose their acceptance? Isn't the same fear present in your 'love' of Jehovah? If you do something wrong, you will lose acceptance by your god?

That doesn't sound very much like "Undeserved kindness" nor does it sound like perfect Love to me.. But, maybe you can shed some light on that scripture for me.. How should I interpret that ???

Hmmm, why would you 'fear' god? I guess you don't have love for Jehovah.. Well, at least not perfect love, anyway...

I would venture to guess that your love of the organization (oops, sorry, Jehovah) is akin to the "love" a slave has for his master... That of "If I do this the way he wants me to, maybe I won't be punished by him".. Ohhh, can't you just 'feel' the "undeserved kindness and love" from Jehovah cry out in that statement?...

Let me know when you start following the bible, and you too will not fear him..

One scripture that proves the WT is false

if you believe that paul was inspired then you can't believe the watchtower follows jehovah's way.. the apostle paul wrote.

"...we are walking by faith, not by sight" .

2co5:7. if paul is correct, why would true christians need "gods visual organization on earth", the answer can only be, drum roll please..... because the watchtower has no faith!

commenting on your Truly I tell you today quote..

If you look in the bible, Jesus says that very phrase something like 40 times in the bible.. (I forget the actual #, but it is quite alot..)..

In all instances, in ALL translations of the bible, the phrase Jesus says is,

Truly, I say to you, ..................................... With the comma after you...

In all translations and in all instances, EXCEPT that one scripture in the NWT...

My question to the WT is why did they not change all the other scriptures? Why just this one? And since Jesus spoke like this quite often, why did he speak differently in this one instance???
