  this is a question i have been trying to answer.

  at the branch visit yesterday, morris discussed eze.33,about ,how if we do not preach we are bloodguilty.

  i would like very much people who are well informed on this topic to show me a thorough scriptual answer.

  Is the Society trying to self sabotage?

  i'm not going to list all the changes here that have happened in 2014, most of you who frequent the boards know about them.. in reference to anthony morris' talk, i can't help feel that the organization is behaving so abnormally out of character for itself that it is bewildering even to ex jws.. cultish behavior is perfectly normal for cults, but whats happened this year is so far out of whack it beggars belief.. what do they think they are doing?

  are they psyching jws up for some major announcement?.

  i can't help but feel that something really strange is going on, this does not feel like the regular "special announcements" followed by articles in the watchtower.. .

  They have smart guys on the legal staff and smart guys on the finance staff. This is a carefully crafted game. They are dealing with the lawsuits by the realestate moves and possibly liability insurance payouts.

  Listen if someone can be a lifelong Baptist, or Presbyterian, or Muslim etc. etc. etc. people can stay JW and be as happy as a duck in a pond....

  People being anchored to the superstitions of religion goes back in our DNA to the early Bronze Age period. Give the human species another two centuries to finally be rid of these attachments.

  "Between the Lines" of the Branch Visit

  i am starting this thread to discuss the financial points i picked up during the branch visit.. firstly - as an elder we were told that all donations from the event - local and worldwide work were to be sent to the branch.

  first of all - could the money-grab be any more obvious given these instructions?

  is it even legal to take funds a person gave to a non-profit for one specific purpose (pay the light bill) to allocate them for another (www slush fund)?

  It seems the 'New' thing is the technology, you can now be plugged in to the annual and formerly off-limits meeting. That little bobble should keep the masses satisfied for another year. Gives them time to come up with something different.

  I remember visiting the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City as a kid, late 1950s. My mother, a lapsed JW at the time, was being recruited by the LDS pretty hard. Our family Dr. was a high ranking Mormon and a cousin of the LDS President. My mother had also gone to school Cleon Skousin the famous LDS author of The Naked Communist. As a family we went to hear Skousen speak after the book came out and I got to meet him.

  At the Temple, if any of you go to visit, they have a film shown to all visitors, a nice piece of propaganda on J.Smith and Brigham Young.

  Muslim refuses to stand for the National Anthem

  cleveland cavaliers basketball player dion waiters stayed in the locker-room during the national anthem at a recent game.

  asked why he responded 'i am rededicating myself to my muslim faith'.

  another basketball player recently refused to stand for the anthem while on the court and was fined by the nba, dion chose to remain in the locker-room.. have you heard of followers of islam refusing to stand for the national anthem or to say the pledge of allegiance on religious grounds.. .

  I attended our town's Planning Commission meeting recently and it opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
