What prayers does God answer?
by jwfacts ini have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.
most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .
if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.

Obviously, God does not answer all prayers. Or to put it another way all prayers are not answered within the timeframe the petitioner would like them to be answered in.

LWT, Angels could be tempted and they fell. Jesus was not God was he then. He became a man who could feel pain, hunger and all that men feel. It's true, God could not be tempted as a man can be. But a son of God/man can be.

Every free agent can be tempted. Every free agent can fail. Every angel can fail. Every man can fail. Wrong desires do not have to be present it's the temptation that causes the wrong desires as shown by Eve in the Garden and by Satan's temptation of Jesus himself.
Let's get with common sense here.

My view of religion using an analogy of theism vs. atheism...
by unshackled insince starting to leave the jws about 10 years ago (i was a fader) i've spent plenty of time going over what i was taught, scrutinizing the bible and its history, and reading books like the god delusion for a fresh perspective.
i would say i've landed on the atheist side of things, though i don't like the word.
(we don't have one for non-stamp collectors...so why non-believers in a god?
