  I have learned a new hobby

  this is so much fun.. my daughter told me to make pillows for my grandchildren for xmas.

  great.

  Lady Lee- I absolutly love your pillows, what a fantasic idea!

  A couple of years ago, I made 4 Santa Sacks for a friends children, I bought plain standard sized pillow cases, a roll of iron transfere paper ( you use it to make iron on transferes with normal materials- it's like double sided tape only bigger and stronger), and off cut pieces of x-mas print material.... I wish I had the good sense to take some pitures of them..... My friend used them as pillow cases for her kids the week leading up to christmas on her children's bed, then the night Santa came, the were laid out on the ends of the beds waiting to be filled with "stocking filler toys/lollies etc.."- I do this with my own children as well

  I am really looking forward to christmas this year now, thank you for sharing your great ideas with us... I m off to get my sewing machine out now.

  Horrid Perfumes and Nasty Nairspray

  why do people wear these things?.

  don't these people know they make everyone else sick?

  for those who wear perfume: please do not spray it directly onto yourself.

  I actually put my mother in law in hospital for two weeks because of my clothes washing powder.... turns out she is allergic to the scented washing powder I used to use on our clothes.... I knew about her allergies to MOST perfumes, so i thought I was doing the right thing by 'changing my clothes' before a 10 minute visit! I have changed to useing the same brand as her now- I like my mother in law and I felt soo terrible for making her so sick....

  I dont use hairsprays or styling mooses, as I have long hair and usually just tie it back... when I do use perfume (not around my mother in law), I just spray once as mentioned in the first post.... I cant stand overpowering smells- even if they nice smells

  Do you have an annoying person who always forwards you religiouse email?

  i have received in recent weeks regular religiouse email from my aunt ( now blocked).

  a religouse friend (not blocked ) iam waiting his invite to the churches christmas lunch.

  its free and excellent.. a total stranger (now blocked).

  I actually dont mind some of them, but I dont forward them on.... I HATE CHAIN EMAILS- just send me a good joke, say hi, and I am happy!

  As for Facebook, I just use it to stay in contact with people and as a cheep way to share photos with family and friends- I dont do the games and fan stuff... (but I like being poked- and poking others... LOL)

  I frequent 2 forums for two reasons, meet and make new friends and to learn something new/have good discussion (the ocassional debate).

  after i decided/resolved to return to meetings several months ago, after being away on and off for several years; i can honestly say that i feel far more settled and comfortable in attending meetings again.. i struggled to attend before, having been reproved, then moving to a different congregation which i didnt find to be overly freindly.

  it was only after i was reproved that i began to see all the past history of the soc iety(via internet) and the many things that simply stumbled me.

  3 times i tried to return to meetings and three times i fell away.

  My view is that although I associate with the JW's (ie use their hall to pray, fellowship, sing songs of praise, and treat each individual s a true brother or sister as Christ taught his disciples; to spread the good news of Gods coming Kingdom) I first and foremost view myself as a Christian. If someone asks me what my religion is?. I will tell them I am a Christian and thats it. If they specifically ask me which denomination, I will tell them I associate with Jehovahs witnesses, but prefer to simply be called a Christian. If they want to discuss it more deeply, I will then explain my christian view point to them.

  So.... do you 'partake'??? ... do you consider yourself one of the 144000???

  made me think of chaperones.

  i always hated having someone with us when we went to do anything.

  I'am going to risk have stones thrown at me here for saying this, but I have to be honest... I do feel that for teenagers (14-17), having a chaperone, or going on group dates is not such a bad thing... It does give young adults a safer environment to get to know the person they are dating as well as helping to prevent teen pregnancy... It's like a safe practise run before they are old enough (legal age) to 'go out alone' on a date that could lead to physical activities....

  The 'no sex before marriage' is a personal choice and not one that I made for myself (hehehe). But I would like to see my children make more responsible choices with dating and not starting a sexual relationship untill they are old enough, mature minded enough to handle the emotional side of that type of relationship...

  As for adults being chaperoned

  i was raised one of jw.

  before i was born my dad joined when two jws came to our house around the same time my grandpa (my dad's dad) died.

  i remember my mom telling me that my dad took this very hard.

  I last long enough as a study to 'get dipped'.... curiousity (and previous- little knowledge of the bible), is why I accepted a study. My study wasn't a failure... I learned that it deffinatly WAS NOT the truth- so I didn't join.

  If I had been living in different circumstances/if I had just suffered the loss of a family member/if I didnt have other sources of credible information available to check or the internet.... then I very well could have been bought, hook line and sinker.

  I was just wondering what made some of you join after being subjected to freedom your whole life. What drew you?

  Curiousity, and the propect of a better way to raise my children.... sometimes the smartest parents will make the dumbest discissions in their attempt to 'give their children, a better life, than the one they had'... BFB- your Dad is still a smart man, he just made a dumb discission, because he loves you... he needs it to be the truth, because if it isn't, how will he protect you????

  I like going through and reading the BEST OF section... this I found 'very' informative.....

  with all their flip flops, errors and changes, do you know of any printed admission of mistakes made ?.

  have they ever apologized for wrong doctrine?.

  Want dialog/transcript of 2009 D/C apology on 1914,25 and 75.

  does anybody have a recording or transcript, anything!

  on the wording and even tone of voice used to 'apologize' for these years mis-predictions?.

  stuff like this will be invaluable in helping young witnesses realize that they need to look back to last century.
