Rumor has it 1600 people are going to be re-allocated to the field from Bethel (which I assume refers to the Brooklyn complex?). Does anyone know how many people will then remain? I have tried to find figures for the number of employed people but I am coming up with nothing.

Britain Branch Construction - UPDATE
by The Searcher indefinitely something going in the london bethel.. i thought i'd ask them again (and record it again) what the situation was regarding the new britain branch construction work.. i got the same sister (debbie) and here is how the conversation went: .
me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.
debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

wow. So hard to tell facts from rumors right now. As far as I understand, the building shutdown is known from an announcement supposedly made at brooklyn bethel breakfast table and reported by second-hand sources, as well as the searchers account from the Bethel service desk?
I believe construction crew right now in Britain are just 40 people in trailers moving dirt & planning (this is from the jw-tv video); it's really impossible to tell what's going on without inside sources as these 40 people can just be told to hang tight for the coming year (i imagine you want people on the site at all times to avoid stealing).
The construction is bound to be completed one day. It will be interesting to compare the finished construction/schedule with what has so far been released.

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

I just called Brooklyn Bethel about construction shut down

they said they had not heard anything about a worldwide shut down of construction.
i asked if he had heard about london bethel shutting down construction.. he said no that it was a surprise to him.

sir82: think about it, why should they make an announcement at bethel to the effect that world-wide construction of AS halls/bethels is being halted as opposed to just doing it and then pointing to the construction of kingdom halls which is still rolling in? (why on earth they didnt just scale back the kingdom hall construction by 20-30% or whatever would cover the loos is beyond me). -
