if the whole disfellowshipping arrangement is from the bible, where are the scriptures that say you can appeal decisions or that if you are reproved what 'privileges' can be taken away?

Disfellowshipping may be scriptural, but shunning is inhumane. Yesterday's whiny WT in paragraph #17 was a slick plug by the org.to justify shunning as a "loving" provision to help disfellowshipped ones 'come to their senses'. I also noticed how the org. misused or even twisted the words in 1 Cor.5:6, 7, 11 by stating that loyalty by (disfellowshipped)Robert's family required "not even greeting such ones." The scripture in 1 Cor. 5:6, 7, 11 says 'not even eating with such a man'. O well at least 'greeting' and 'eating' rhyme. 2 John has information about not greeting the 'antichrist'. A disfellowshipped sinner is not the same as the 'antichrist'.

and so the Jehovah's Witnesses imagine they are doing a sacred service to God!

John 16:1-4

"I have spoken these things to YOU that YOU may not be stumbled. 2 Men will expel YOU from the synagogue. In fact, the hour is coming when everyone that kills YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to God. 3 But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the Father or me. 4 Nevertheless, I have spoken these things to YOU that, when the hour for them arrives, YOU may remember I told them to YOU.

Here is what Jesus Christ said a few verses later while addressing this disfellowshipping" situation:

John 16:20

Most truly I say to YOU, YOU will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; YOU will be grieved, but YOUR grief will be turned into joy.

There is a lot of weeping and wailing in the Ex-Jehovah's Witness community.

The very large majority of disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses still just don't get it!

When the penny drops (so to speak) that will change.

Matthew 24:21

for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.

Seems the Apostle Peter completely understood what Jesus Christ meant when he said; "for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now".

2 Peter 2:4-6

Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tar´ta·rus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment; 5 and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people; 6 and by reducing the cities Sod´om and Go·mor´rah to ashes he condemned them, setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come;

There can be only one fulfillment of the prophecy in Matthew Chapter 24!

In regard to the disgusting thing entering the holy place Jesus Christ said this:

Matthew 24:21

for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.

The greatest tribulation the world had seen up to tthat point was Noah's Flood where only 8 people survived.

The tribulation in the 1st Century was nowhere near that size. In fact since then there have been even worse tribulations upon the Jewish people (Nazi Holocast) since then and yet Jesus Christ said above; "no, nor will occur again".

In other words what the Watchtower says about a 1st Century fulfillment is total BS.

This prophecy can only be fulfilled once!

WT prophesied or interpreted that the UN will attack False Religion - just like when Roman army attacked Jerusalem and its temple during its first century fulfillment.

There is a problem here with this interpretation of scripture.

If the UN attacking false religion is the disgusting thing entering a Holy Place then, that means False Religion is Holy.

Even insisting that the Romans undermining the 1st Century temple as being an initial fulfillment has big problems.

How could the 1st Century Temple be something still Holy if Jesus Christ had already proclaimed that it had been abandoned?

Also if the 1st Century Temple was still Holy then what does that say about the temple Jesus Christ said he would raise up 3 days after his death.

The Watchtower also seem to imply that what Luke said about Jerusalem being surrounded by armies was an interpretation of the things privately said to some Apostles as recorded in Matthew Chapter 24.

Wrong!

Jerusalem being surrounded by armies was something Jesus Christ told a very large crowd of people as he was entering Jerusalem riding a donkey.

Nothing private about that!

here we are in the midst of 2013, only one year from the 100th anniversary of 1914. since i have many family members who are still jehovah's witnesses, and who still believe that the end of the world is coming any minute now, i thought i would post a little list of events, a timetable if you will, of some end-time prophesies and how long ago they were.. around 2,600 years ago zephaniah promised: "near is the great day of the lord, near and coming very quickly; listen, the day of the lord!

around 1,980 years ago jesus promised,"...this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.
