Read the bible
Yeah.. back when I was married, the way I drew close to my wife was by reading and re-reading some stories she wrote. I never actually spoke to or saw her, but I had a deep, meaningful, personal relationship with her.

ok, so out of boredom and curiosity, i have unleashed the new.
dvd "the wonders of creation reveal god's glory" on the.
unsuspecting public!.
Thanks for the effort inkling, but there's no way I could watch more than a few minutes of that drival right now. I watched about 30 seconds of part 2 and they already lied.
"There is awesome power even at the atomic level, but man has often used it destructively." (Cut to nuclear explosion stock footage.)
TWICE is now considered "often"? Compare the two bombs that were actually used vs. the hundreds of nuclear power stations around the globe that provide millions of people with power daily.
Oh, and hey- how many of these filmmakers/CGI artists do you think went to college to learn how to do this stuff?
My friend does editing for a living, he went to collage, but didn't learn any of his editing skills there. It's not a trivial skill (when you get into pixel ratios and compression formats), but it's not something you need collage to learn - just time and experience in the field.

remember when the speaker from another congregation didn't show up?
i can still feel the good feeling it gave me at the thought of being able to go home early.
and all through the wt, every time the door opened i remember subtlely sneaking a peak to see if it was the speaker, and when it was just a latecomer, it kept my hopes up that he wouldn't show.
I would never admit that I'd rather watch Garfield and PeeWee's Playhouse than go out in field service.
I would never admit that I shot a bb-gun at a friend's house.
I would never admit I was at the neighbor's house playing Super Mario Bros 2.
I would never admit that I wasn't just 'killing robots with my friend' when we played Descent 2 via modem every day after school.
I would never admit that other people on the "TI calculator forum" on CompuServe were occationally uploading pictures of naked women.
I would never admit that evolution made a lot of sense to me, having implemented a few fractal algorithms on my computer.
I would never admit I'd rather fall in love than go to bethel.

i believe that this has been posted on this site before, but this afternoon i received this message,.
(after reading this i need to take several asprin and lay down.).
does jehovah know what is going on, and does he help?
I have little doubt at least some of these things happened, though possibly slightly embelished. However:
I guess the lord givith sand when sand is needed.. and the lord taketh away blood when a blood transfusion is needed.

PS: My mom adamantly believes that when she was out of pantyhose one meeting night, and they found a pair on the side of the road en route to meeting... it was God's intervention. That's right. God gave my mom a pair of 'practically new' pantyhose. He doesn't give a f#*! about dying children, but that pantyhose.. now that's worth snapping his fingers for.
True to what? The god of the hebrew scriptures is a morally despicable character if you stop making excuses and really think about the way he acts and treats humanity.

i would like to know what to mix strawberries with, any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
.
Mash a couple strawberries with some sugar, pour onto a shortcake cup, and top with a little whipped creme. No wait, don't do that.. it creates an addictive mind-altering substance.

why not just go kosher?
article source: http://www.thinkspain.com/news-spain/16813/bloodless-black-sausage-created-for-jehovahs-witnesses.
bloodless black sausage created for jehovah's witnesses.
Finally! I remember as a witness black sausage was just one of the many forbidden fruits I lusted for.
Lets see what other products or services we can come up with for the 'witness niche'...
And this week our top seller is:

because of the economy, many grocery stores including the above have started "buy one get one free".....look out, it's most likely a joke.. just today in albertsons they had nestle's drum stick icecream cones (4 pack) at $4.39.
buy one get one free.
at the very bottom of the freezer you could buy and 8 pack for $6.49.
Seriously though, you have to keep an eye on this stuff. I don't know how many times I've seen 24-packs of soda that cost more than buying 2 12-packs, and that sort of thing. You assume because it's "bulk" you get a better deal, or at least the same.. but it's not always the case.
Of course, a lot of that is moot anyway if you're single. Buying anything in bulk other than canned goods and frozen items just means more stuff to spoil before you get around to eating it.

i don't feel i have to know the truth about how life started or where we're coming from etc, but can't help thinking abt it anyway now and then.
guess it's only natural.. right now i feel really clueless and that i have too little knowledge abt the darwin, big bang theory.... (i was always taught by the dubs that darwin questioned his own theory...but was it really so?)..
i have a close friend who's sure of the evolution but can really the complex and wonderful life and nature come abt by chance (even though he says it's not chance...).
That single cell spontaneously appeared in the big bang right? Or am I in the "old light" here too?
Evolution is not a theory regarding how life begain (that is a process known as "abiogenesis"). Evolution is a theory which describes the variety of life we see today in nature.
I think the best answer right now to how life began is "I don't know". There are a few ideas how abiogenesis could have happened, but not enough evidence to support any one hypothosis over another.
To Newborn:
If you want to learn about evolution, go for it! But keep in mind evolution is a product of scientific thinking. Science isn't shallow or oversimplified. Science is the real deal, which means it isn't always intuitive or easy to understand. Chemestry, cellular biology... modern science provides deep and sophisticated answers to very complex questions. In some cases it takes a lot of study, research, and thinking before you really even understand the question.
Keep an open mind, and if a creationist kind of question pops into your head, google it! Chapter 6 in Darwin's "On the Origin of the Species" addresses the difficult areas of the theory. Darwin stood behind his theory, but because genetics and DNA were not yet understood in his time, he acknowleged that his theory rode on the idea that some mechanism for passing on traits would be discovered. Many scientists have challenged evolution with every conceivable question, and for 200 years, it's stood up to the challenges. In the Dover trial, Behe threw all his best arguments against evolution into the trial, and every time scientists stood up to his challenges. So any question you have has no doubt been asked many, many times before, and you should be able to find a satisfactory answer.

perhaps this article will help you know for yourself: http://www.tetragrammaton.org/godsnameabsent.htm.
assumptions based on our own reasonings against clear evidence
Ah, well, that is why I really don't care for the bible, but rather I study and put to the test evolution. It has such marvelous evidence, and it's up to the test.
FACT - at the time of writing God's personal name was freely used and spoken
Fact - Jews and then christians removed God's actual written name from the hebrew scriptures nearly 7000 times leaving no evidence it was ever there.
Uhh.. NOT FACT. Please provide supporting evidence.
Christendom is resistant to Jehovah beyond reason or logic and that for me is indicative of putting man-made doctrine before truth.
Ah, "truth". How can DNA evidence that we all decended from an ancestor shared with chimps... how can fossil evidence that we evolved... how can evidence that the earliest humans originated in africa... how can any of those facts hold up against "truth".
JW's are resistant to established DNA, fossil, and radiologically confirmed facts... and that for me is indictive of putting mythical doctrine before truth.
Explain to me how radio carbon dating across nearly a dozen different molecular compounds, is incorrect. And before you say 'the flood', tell me how being submerged underwater or exposed to a different level of solar radiation changes radioactive decay. You can't. You know why? Becuase you are ignorant.
