well,this is from someone who for years only had conventions and assemblies to look for potential dates and without much success.lol.
and it really is hard to meet people and then,i feel right now,is not the best time anyway.
but,i have explored on-line options.
Personally, I say skip the dating sites and join meetup.com. Find groups that spark your interest. Go to meetings, volunteer, be a good person and help others. Unlearn anything you learned about JW social life (it's all wrong), and observe. Don't think about gender. When you're ready, it'll happen.
Oh, and buy some good clothes.

this mother was sentenced to 8 to 10 years for attempted murder because she refused to give her 9 year old son his chemotherapy medication, and thus it resulted in his death.. my first thought was that perhaps this is a stepping stone to parents being held responsible for not permitting lifesaving blood transfusions for their minor children, no matter if it is on religious grounds.
this woman's excuse was that the side effects of the medication were "painful" for her son (yet his resulting slow agonizing death was much more painful).
The Society couldn't give a rat's ass if the parents were held liable for refusing blood transfusions for their kids-----they'd just tell
the parents to suck it up all for the 'greater glory'.
I completely agree.

I love the older Disney works as well. Although I count The Lion King as the beginning of the end. (Aladdin is just ok... at least its a full-length feaure.)
I wish they had the vision to bring more covensional animation back. 3D rendering is ok, but has it's weaknesses.

Why is it unsurprising that there is a new "dumber Watchtower", but not also a new "Smarter Watchtower" to go with it - one which would describe in greater detail the "deeper things"?
I guess among JW's... there just isn't a demand for that sort of thing.

They must have discovered they were accidently educating people in the english language. The Watchtower is anti-education. Additionally, most apostate information on the internet is English... so that's the last langauge WT wants to promote.
In 5-10 years, they'll decide it's a good idea to 'consolidate' the two issues back into one to reduce overhead. They'll make the study articles read like the dumbed-down child-speak, and put 'advanced topics' in little grey boxes for anyone left in their cult that can read the big words. This will work out great for them in the end: As less and less of their of their writing staff is properly educated, it'll be easier to produce articles.... plus they'll have an excuse to feed all their followers a "baby-food religion" and sweep under the rug failed their explainations regarding 1914, the origin of life, etc.
What do you do when the intellectual world is kicking your ass? Make it easier for your followers to STAY DUMB.
