i've heard this said so many times.
just why do jws think the new world translation is sooooo good?.
is it because they are proud that their religion has the resources to produce a whole new translation?.
Our Bible is the "best".............
Yeah... and so's their website.
i need to get ideas on how to get my family members to "stumble" on to this site.
i would get tremendous resistance for just recommending it honestly.
there are so many logical wake up stories here.
"Watchtower says the Internet is the Devil".
Then why do they have an internet site? Oh ...wait... my bad! It's because they're being led by the Devil.
these articles blow me away!
it's obviously written by a bethelite who sits at a table with hungry young bethel boys!
if you've eaten at bethel you know what i mean...get in quick or the chicken, beans etc will be gone!

Luckily, I have not. Sounds to me like they need more food there. Quantity of food required is as individual as each person partaking. Or... instead of buffet or help yourself style, all plates are pre-loaded. Anyone needing more can ask for it. Either of these would avoid the need for this article to be written. Also, does Bethel have an exercise program? Just sayin'...
Is food a big thing in your life?
This is one of the main reasons I drag my carcass outta bed every morning! And another big reason why I work. Sooo... I would have to answer Yes! It is. So what? If someone has an obesity problem at Bethel, then I suggest getting this person some professional help instead of writing some prejudicial article.
LOL! Speakin' of which... it's Black Fly season here in Ontario. And I'm dinner! Aaaaarrgghh!
Coming Soon to the month of June ... Mosquito season! ... Double Aaaarggghhh!... I've tried to hide from them by standing in the smoke of a campfire... Nope! They actually followed me in. Blood suckers!
Thanks for the giggles!
i now find the dub only koolaid edition so awful i can only read so much.. blondie does a great job of proxy-studying for us all, we owe her a great debt of gratitude.. i vote that when her task finally drives her barking mad we all club together to pay for her electro-shock therapy, just to help get her back here real soon.. anyway, i digress.. an interesting feature of the studies is the number of death threats, or threats of initiatory force, that are being put in the studies nowadays.
even in titles such as "what will you give to continue living?".
do you think it would be worth posting a "death threat" count for each week?
Blondie is truly amazing. I think she's pretty strong and I doubt she'll end up a raving loon. She has us!
I LIKE the Death Threat Count! I think it will be interesting to see this statistic over time.
Just all part of the pile of my many issues with the WTS -- their negativity, doom and gloom, and threats. It has created bad results in my family.
hi all, i've been reading this site for about a month now and decided it was time to jump in.
it is truly a blessing to have people who know exactly what we are going through.
some background, i'll keep it short:.
awildflower... you are welcome. I love to read as well. I wish I had more time! You definitely have a ton of books. I need more bookcases and possibly a bigger house.
About your JW books.... actually, you might want to look into selling them (maybe on eBay?) as many are looking for reference information regarding past and present doctrines to illustrate further the deceptions from the WTS. They have this way of 'changing' things and not acknowledging or highlighting the change.
So you would actually be creating a Win-Win scenario there! Some extra cash for you and some needed ammunition for others. Maybe your son could use the cash to go to University! I think someone mentioned that Randy Watters (Dogpatch here on JWN) sells JW materials so you may want to speak to him if you'd prefer not to sell -- I believe he'll take donations. My Dad has an extensive JW library that dates back into the 60s and possibly earlier. My Mum used to order the yearly Awake! and Watchtower bound books, and of course, all the study books as well (the 'Your Youth' book I still have and won't give up to remind me of one of my biggest issues with this organization -- subjugation of women ). Ray Franz's 'Crisis of Conscience' really opened my eyes along with those who have been brave enough to publish their stories on the Internet (like Lee Marsh, Rick Fearon, Gary Busselman, Randy Watters, and Barbara Anderson to name a few.). My jaw hurt a lot since it hit the floor countless times over this last year or two.
And yes, us newbies are on 'probation'. We only have 10 posts per 24 hour period so you have to be a bit thrifty in your choice of threads to contribute to. With time, you will get to know which ones are worth your effort. I avoid commenting on ones where I don't exactly like the tone or theme or where I really haven't got anything to say. We are also waiting for the ability to update our profiles to add avatars, locations, 'our story', etc.

Wild flowers are beautiful. Welcome to the forum!
It will be interesting to hear your stories especially being married to a Navy man. I am sure that is a very interesting dynamic! Children are amazingly resilient and intelligent. I remember what it was like when I was a kid. I didn't like being lied to or treated as if I didn't know things. And I saw inconsistencies and inaccuracies with the WTS doctrines by my teen years. I knew it wasn't for me. Now, as an adult, I try to treat children the way I wanted to be treated when I was their age.
I am reading too many books at the moment but Ekhart Tolle's 'A New Earth' is one of them. Also, Stephen Covey's 'Principle -Centred Leadership'. His '7 Habits' and 'First Things First' were great too. I will check out Gregg Braden's books as well, so thank you for mentioning them.
There is a saying.... "We don't choose the books we read. The books choose us." Once again... Welcome!
ask the witness at your home whether he'll take up this challenge:.
''you try and convince me jw's are the true religion using nothing but the bible.
and i'll try and convince you jw's are not the true religion using nothing but jw publications''.
LOL! I LIKE it!
ThomasCovenant... you'll win hands down.
have you read it?.
world conquest soon.
god's kingdom.
LOL! Ooopss... is that bad of me to laugh at this? And there's that 's' word again .... 'soon' . Uhhh... no. Haven't read it.
cameo-d... your highlights were great! Thanks for the laugh.
