  I am skeptical this will really have any positive affect. They will just figure out some way to weasel around it as DD mentioned.

  Dragging Jehovah's name trough the mud!

  listening to the first survivor testify to the australian royal commission really brought back some feelings i had put aside.. the feelings of guilt you feel for doing the right thing is extremely hard even when you know it's illogical it doesn't stop the abuse you do to yourself with these toxic thoughts of "dragging jehovah's name through the mud" i guess it doesn't help that you have the elders freaking out saying "reproach, reproach...this is bad!!

  it took quite awhile for me to come to terms with how completely ridicules it is to think jehovah would want this hidden.

  the truth is the religion wants it hidden and they are perfectly fine with destroying lives along the way!!

  Well, I thought this was cool. I have already received a short reply to my email from Angus Stewart. I did not expect to receive one. Whether it was his admin. assistant or actually him I don't really care. I am just impressed they responded at all.

  Afrikanman, thanks for posting that. Checking it out now. Very impressive.

  It would be very interesting to see the CV's of the various elders Angus Stewart has questioned. Do JWs even know what a CV is?

  This was my exact impression as well. I also wonder if anything will change because of the Royal Commission hearings. I doubt Botchtower will change unless there are new laws enacted that they must adhere to.

  they are told that persecution is coming and that all will see it.. they are told that there will be lies in the media about us.. they even give the old brother king interview about brothers being jailed.

  the last sentence tony the tiger damn near screams at the camera to stay faithful you integrity keepers... he knows your fathers and husbands may be going to jail.

  this talk is all about damage control.. .

  DD, I agree. I think the Royal Commission should also see the video where children are urged to give the Borg their ice cream money, the video from the convention of those 2 parents talking about shunning their children, as well as the July vid from Tony.

  Ron - 'I Don't Recall' - DeRooy was sickened by what happened but did nothing about it due to the internal processes of his religion.
  

  This is not a very good advert for anyone thinking of becoming a JW.

  hi i am delighted to be apart of the community.. having left the witnesses one of my first challenges was my believe in god.

  naturally.. i have concluded that i am alive and conscious.

  now my intuition tells me god exists, but my analytical thinking tells me god does not exist.

  How have you reconciled with the issue of theodicy?
