just had lunch with a inactive jw friend of mine who is well on her way out.
she said that when the she went to the kingdom hall the week of the circuit overseers visit, he said from the platform, that if anyone had done any wrong doing in the past, no matter how long ago, and had never come forward to tell the elders, then they would not make it into the new system, but would rather die at armegedon!!.
i guess after that talk the elders were inindated and they began privately, and publically reproving, and removing ones!!
I'm glad I am far enough away from all this that I can LOL at it. At one time I would have taken it seriously and believed that it was indeed Jah's spirit moving me and others to confess.

it is quite good and well worth $10 and i find myself listening to it more than i thought i would.
I don't think Susan Boyle is even remotely connected with the jws, is she? She is just singing some classic songs. I for one loved them. I would like to hear her do something that rocks . She is the real deal, not a skinny 20 something with too much makeup. So the real deal is a group of unloved grannies, Lee? Life has more than leveled the playing frield for Susan. I loved hearing Simon call her a "cheeky little devil" or something to that affect.

a really good program with lots of never before seen footage and interviews.
george martin narrates much of it and give lots of insight behind the making of the music.. the history channel repeats these programs fairly often but i could not find it scheduled on the website guide.
No but I was watching PBS and they had a pledge drive which featured several DVD's of original Ed Sulliven shows. Among them were the Beatles in 1964. The Stones and The Doors were also on. Original footage. I wish I had had the $150 to donate- I'd have loved to have those DVD's. Lol at the hairsyles. Ed Sulliven ruled that show with a strong arm. He was a comanding force.

This is a joke- right? I mean, there is a song with the verse " all along the Watchtower" - that does not mean that group has aligned forces with the wts. The WTS and the LDS have nothing of doctrine in common that I am aware of. They are not even kissing cousins.
And yeah , the coffee and booze would be definite deal breakers- unless they were consicence matters.
i've been looking in the watchtower library all morning and can't find anything.. i know that jws have this rule (is it unwritten??
) where a brother and a sister should not be left alone in a car, a house, or any private place.
but my jw father says it's not so, and he spent a part of yesterday installing a computer program at a jw couple's house while the man was at work and the wife was at home.
I recall that eventually elders were told to not be alone with a sister when giving counsel or comfort. It was for the elders protection as it was becoming more common for allegations of sexual misconduct to be filed against elders. I once heard an unauthorized tape that was being passed around the KH. It was a sad story about an elder who had helped a mother and her 14 yr old daughter, only to be later accused of molestation of te 14 yr. old. It ruined his life as an elder ( he had to step down) and it ruined him personally. I believe he may have died early , but I could be wrong on that . The audience was clearly feeling for the elder- a man , a servant of God who had been tricked and taken advantage of by 2 scheming women. I think they may have used the birthday of where John the Baptist was beheaded as an example. (scheming jezebels).
