at our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.
in years past magazines were sent to each congregation po's home address via ups.. going forward, magazines will be sent only as far as the assembly hall.
it is the responsibility of each kingdom hall to send brother(s) twice a month to drive out there, pick up the magazines, and return.. this of course saves a little bit of money for the society - shipping larger packages to fewer addresses will cost less.. however, what about the expense to the local congregations?.
In my area several congs share halls . I imagine one Van could pick up for all 4 congs sharing one hall. They will call it a privilege to give our time and money to Jehovah.
I guess if you had a accident while picking up the mags you could use theocratic warefare( lying) to tell your insurance co it was personal business-unless of course boxes of the mags were strown all over the highway.

considering the latest questions from readers article on blood transfusion, i was wondering what the feelings are among this forums participants about blood transfusion.
over the years the society has been receiving a growing amount of letters on the subject of blood and blood transfusion.
any interesting biblical perspectives here about whether "abstain from blood" means abstain from blood transfusion?

Sometimes people who are suffering from PTSD look like that. Also,he may be on medications b/c if what he said is ture, he may not be able to deal reality or he may have become mentally ill. I would not be too quick to judge yet. This is an area that has not received too much attention on the boards b/c men in general are more ashamed to admit they were abused by another male ( homo phob stuff) .

I came here still a JW , mostly in my head. I had stopped going in FS years before I finally stopped attending. I refused to help spread their lies and hate any longer. I was surprised to see that it was basically an XJW site but there was a lot of debate and like a train wreck- I could not look away . Debate is not something you can do at the KH or with most other JW. I was not told to leave just b/c I was not a card carrying apostate. My problem with JW was I could not understand why they said one thing and did another. I would have returned to them if they had made efforts to undo the damage they have done to my life as my family were all in. I had not really thought about the doctrine issues ( except DF) and I think that is not at all uncommon. A lot of jw do not know what their religion actually teaches. I was mad enough to listen and read what I had previously thoughts were just lies and half truths. I could not argue with those who had personal experience and some of the personal stories were what helped me to leave JW behind in my thinking. I also found out that many of those in "Babylon the Great" are similar to JW . I did not know that before b/c I had not investigated other religions. A dear friend ( who was older than me) once told me all religion is more or less the same. They said JW carried certain things a too far but basically religion was about control of other people--- power and greed. I was shocked to realize that JW were just another of the numerous apocalyptic religions that started up around the turn of the last century. They wern't special at all.
This board is very tame compared to years ago. Jw that came to the board were called out and there were some firey debates. The board is different now as most of us have moved past that stage .When this board was new there was very little info out there for those leaving jws. In 2002 when Bill bown blew the child molestation thing wide open there was no other place to get that info. Now all you have to do is google jws and you can find just about anything. So many books have been written and brave people like Randy,Ray and Bill and others have put themselves on the line so those who exit now don't have to scratch and search too hard for the truth about jws.
Remember debate and people having a difference of opinion is a foreign concept to most JW. If they stay here long enough they will learn to love it.

I know lot of us come here b/c we feel this is a safe place away from jws- a place we can vent and let our hair down. Recall this is still the net and it is a public board. It is then painful to to be told that we are all just liars by a jws that feels it is their duty to set us straight. If you are at that point in your depature from jws, then do not read those persons posts. If they get too out of line you can be sure the mods will set them straight.

If you look back at the history of this board you will find much intelligent debate on doctrine and other issues. That was the beginning of this board.
.Anyone who wants to have debate can if they follow the forum rules. If jws come here and want to debate doctrine or other issues-- and you feel like it, do it.
I think that many who are on the board now have recently left jws and it hurts them to hear jws often hatefilled language.

Most real JW's would not be here, but as long as they follow the forum rules- why should we care? The ones who come here are usually having serious thoughts about the wts . The other type are a bit of a nuisance but have created some very interesting reading and made the board fun.
I don't have to read their posts if I don't want to. I think they make the board interesting. I can recall when I first came here years ago I was still very much a JW in my head. Thanks to those who did not attack me b/c I did read the posts and it helped me rid my mind of jw's brainwashing.
Why would they want to leave jws if we attack them and make them unwelcome? They are just posting words and we don't practice information control here .Let them speak- are we afraid of jws?
As Scully said, you can say what you like within forum rules but, there may be consequences for what you said . So be prepared.
