have any of you had the experience of a bethelite brother visiting your kh?.
here's how it always seemed to go in my experience:.
there is a general kh-wide excitement in the air that a real, live bethelite rockstar is at the hall; overheard are numerous convo's featuring words like "o, he's a bethelite".. visiting brother bethelite gives the closing prayer and is immediately mobbed by adoring fans.. all the single sisters are on high alert, you can smell the estrogen in the air.
Waffles mentions that "...all the single sisters are on high alert, you can smell the estrogen in the air" and the OnTheWayOut indicates in his brief comments which implies that "...the Spanish sisters may have had their estrogen in overdrive..."
Please, can you expand and clarify on what you meant by those statements above?

What a powerful label! If the author reports of 'Bethel rockstar heavies', might it be correct to imply that there are also 'Bethel Superstar heavies'? If yes, then who would possibly fits into that category?

any therapist worth his or her salt who has skill in treating victims of emotionally abusive, controlling relationships should be able to successfully treat these same issues in someone who has been in a cult.
they are similar issues.
you may need to educate your therapist about the similarities, but he/she should be able to use similar treatment strategies for these particular issues.. here is a comparison chart i created today: http://www.lulu.com/ex-jw.

Dina, sorry to hear that, "suck at being a submissive wife". I bet your hubby dd take advantage of your submssiveness in same way we will deny an Elder previledge of recieving double honor from us if he is not working as harder as would be expected. I think a woman's submissiveness is conditional to his Hubby's being respectful of what his creator expects him to behave. Anything short of that will stir resentment. Please, what do you think about that?

i had an interesting experience over the weekend.
i took a couple of my in-laws on a trip as a present.
unfortunately they wanted to attend a meeting while they were out of town.
Good job. Otherwise, its profoundly sickening to see the intensity of brainwashing on the part of this overbearing religion. I think the survival of this religion depends on how far its able to maintain its mental grip on the ranks and files. Its sad but that ithe reality.

a lady that comes to our ex-jw meetup is a df'ed jw and still has some contact with her jw parents.
anyway, her father went to the week-long elders school in patterson, ny and they dropped him and a bunch of other elders off at laguardia airport.
the ny jw's were done with them.. .
Most of us on this site will agree with me that people over 60 years are vulnerable. Its unfortunate that this elderly man aged 80, was left alone without support at a bussy airport. However, from unlikely source, a shunned daughter did provide unexpected support and caring. So where is the credit going? Is this a classic example of loving and caring on the part of the watchtower ? I have met many of the worldly people or non-JW who are so kind, humane and very caring, a far cry from the many of JWs around. This raises some important questions: who is the one the holy spirit operating on? Is bearing the fruits of holy spirit- an exclusive reserve of the Watchtower? I think, shunning is certaily a conveniece tool used by WTS to control and manipulate the ranks and files of JWs. As this example of the abandoned elderly can demostrate, impossing or enforcing shunning practices can be limited when the supposed enforcer in a disadvantagious situation- such as the inability to refuse assistance during one's hour of need when all the expected or likely assistance that should have come from JW source or never-before shunned world people is diminished.

Congraculation. You did a wonderful but firm decision. You are an example to the rest of us . Iam proud of you. I believe the whole foundation on which Gelead School is based is myth to say the lest. The 1914 year has been discreded to the fullest. I think Gelead School was founded close to that year. Right? By the way,please, scan a pic and post it here for us to see it. although not in print yet - 440 bethelites reassigned, was the figure i heard from the platform as to how many bethelites have been reassigned to the field in one way or another in the usa
Now, you won't believe this, but....
A friend of mine, a young man, was fired from Bethel, sent home, sent packing, with no compensation, in 2006.
He came on this board and started talking about it but nobody believed him, they called him a troll, and he
was banned from the board. Now it's common knowledge about the "layoffs." I've tried to get him to come
back to the board. I hoped with an introduction from me, people might believe he's legit, since I actually know
him, he's been in my house, we're not just cyber-friends. He would have good info for you but I can't get him
to come back here yet.
