I don't scare too easily.
Except when recording episodes of Blood Witness. It's scary!
Sorry, I couldn't resist plugging it again. But seriously, if you like horror or vampire stories, and/or dislike the Witnesses (I think there might be a couple of people here who don't like them) check it out. You won't be disappointed.
And thanks again for the welcome, everyone.

What's messed up is that he isn't very caring about less fortunate.
You're making assumptions. He never said anything for or against the less fortunate.
He was talking, very specifically, about applying some basic principles to government. Nothing more, nothing less. And they are pretty common, and common sense, principles. (I suspect his "respect for life" includes anti-choice nonsense, but he never got into it.)
he certainly does a better job at being interviewed than I would do, indeed better than many adults would.
While he's not saying anything original, he is saying it clearly and articulately for a kid. I've seen an awful lot of adults (of all political persuasions) that can't put a single sentence together as well as this kid has.
The knee-jerk reactions I've seen here are nothing more than very juvenile insults that don't address anything he said. The very title of this thread is appalling. I expected it to be about some redneck racist or screaming preacher.* Instead I see a well-mannered kid talking about some very basic conservative principles that most thinking people would agree with. And rather than a constructive, legitimate debate on what he said we get a screen full of insults so childish they'd be considered lame by any other 14 year old.
Help me out here--I can't for the life of me figure out why you're attacking him.
I can only guess, but it smells like pure fear to me. The left loves to attack personalities rather than ideas. (To be fair, the right does this too.) They lump mouth breathing idiots like Michael Savage and Ann Coulter in with smart, thinking people like Glen Beck and Thomas Sowell and The Cato Institute to spare themselves the pain of thinking about what's being said. It's become such an automatic response the words go whizzing by their ears, unheard, as they gleefully slam the person saying them. I don't see a single anti-kid post that presents an argument against what he said; they're all personal attacks on him. And worst of all, they're tiresome, juvenile and unfunny attacks. At least use some imagination, people.
*<old joke> I'm compelled to note that Screaming Preacher would be a good name for a band. </old joke> -

What's messed up? Sure, he wears way to much lipstick, but he's well spoken and, at least in this clip, not saying anything outrageous. If the left so afraid of articulate opinion they have to label it as Nazi?

Do not Disassociate, Anull your baptism
by jwfacts ini am now a jedi, so trust me on this.. .
why dis-associate, you are just playing by the wts rules?
how can you dis-associate anyway, you never thought you were baptised as a watchtower society member, you thought your dedication was to god, so why formally disassociate from something you did not formally join?

Who cares what kind of label is attached to you by a collection of idiots?
Agreed, but I can think of one cool advantage to this.
The look on their face when you tell them you weren't DAd ar DFd.

Blood witness sounds interesting. I have a long reading list but will check it out sometime.
It's a podio book, released as weekly epsidsodes as an audio file, so you listen to it rather than read it.

I don't see anything dishonest here.
He's making the point that our current crisis has nothing to do with health care, education, or environmental concerns.
He's right. -

Phonecall from a JW witnessing.....
by sweet pea infinally i got my chance to see what a witness was made of on the phone yesterday.. .
her opening line was "we haven't been able to reach you at your door, so that's why we're calling (barefaced lie as we have had witnesses call latey who even came back for a return visit but that's besty's story...).
we had a lively but ultimately very frustrating conversation.

In all the years I knocked on doors, there were a handful of people who engaged me in conversation and asked me questions like you asked your JW caller, sweet pea. And they made so much more of an impression than they could ever know. I totally agree that no one will leave the WT before they are ready. But hopefully, what you said will be replayed in her mind and the doubt will start to grow.
I remember being on the receiving end of conversations like that. I still remember a couple of them decades later. You're not going to de-convert someone on your doorstep. But you can plant seeds of doubt that may sprout years later.
You'll never know if you succeeded, but it's worth a try.
And it's fun, too.

Not hiding – still under the newbee 10 posts a day limit.
Hot Chocolate, not sure which Hittman you're thinking of. I'm not the rapper (I hate rap), nor the bad heavy metal band. I'm this Hittman:
Quick Hitts
And probably of more interest to the people on this board, I'm this Hittman:
Blood Witness - A podiobook about a Jehovah's Witness who becomes a vampire.
Thanks for the welcome! It was a pleasant surprise to see this thread here this morning, I just had to wait for the 10 posts limit to expire before I could reply to it.
