In what way is the 1,000 yr reign of Christ a purgatory?
by gubberningbody inwell, in the sense that you "pay" for your sins by proxy.. downside as opposed to a catholic purgatory - you can apparently fail and perish.. on the catholic side of things - once you make it to purgatory, it's just a matter of time.
you're in..

I was an atheist before I became one of JW's, now I'm an agnostic...
by gubberningbody ini know that people here have gone on and joined other religious groups for community.. if that makes them happy, then fine.. it wouldn't make me happy, because i don't care about religious community.. i have yet to find any religious group of people who are willing to challenge, examine, evaluate and publish in a kind-of "peer-reviewed" fashion what they believe, why they believe it, what's potentially wrong about the various beliefs and what would constitute a necessary and sufficient evidence for rejecting or accepting a given belief.. everything should be on the table for questioning or rejecting.. it's been my experience that most people and groups get together to homogenize and reject, and further that these do so in an illegitimate and morally self-inconsistent manner.. .

Can it truly be said that it's possible to believe something you can't understand?
by gubberningbody incan it truly be said that it's possible to understand something you can't explain?.
if faith is belief in some thing or some oneother than onesself.... .
then what does this say about fidelity or infidelity, faith in or apostasy from any thing or any one?.

The Problem of Evil, "Free Will" and Questions of Morality
by gubberningbody injw's say that god has only the limitations he himself has placed upon himself and that he keeps faith with himself.. they further say that all evil is the result of the challenge to his sovereignty.
the time man's experienced evil is to the end of proving the rightfulness and righteousness of jehovah, his way of ruling and that he didn't create defective creatures with free will, but rather the defect was their own - they chose evil.
other things subsidiary, to these but contingent on them too.. .

JW Helter Skelter head tricks...(which I did)
by gubberningbody ini used to go to the local goodwill store and find literature that was given to people (who obviously didn't want it because it was in mint condition) with their names inside "to blah, blah w/blessings blah...." and look them up and secretly leave it back on their doorsteps late at night so when they got up the next morning this unwanted literature would be there, mocking them.... .
another thing was the laundromat fake witnessing thing... there was this one laundromat that kept trashing the mags and i'd retrieve them every day and put them back...(the same set)...then i came in after about three or four times this happened to find it shredded in the trash and so i collected the shredded bits and replaced the mags with what looked like identical copies, less the mangling.
this happened about two more times and i kept doing the same thing ( i think i had like a case of these sets because that's what you'd get from people who wanted to "help" the pio's out).
