As always I enjoy reading your posts. That WT article makes me sick. I'm the fader in my family. I'm the one that helps (willingly, happily, gratefully) my elderly parents any chance I get. My 'in good standing" sister barely calls them.
Did I read the article correctly that they inferred that unbelieving family shouldn't be a help to elderly parents????????

so i have been having problems with the renters that moved in next door.
the last 3 months have been a living hell.
i have an ongoing complaint with the slumlord that owns the property and the city is taking him to court for derelict vehicles next week (which i anonymously complained about, but i am sure i am being blamed for).
IP...you're right actually.......if you aren't prepared to use a gun then you shouldn't have one........
so I'll recant on the gun thing.....however there are plenty of ways to defend yourself....but you have to have the mindset to do it.......

Lots of good advice here, Snakes. I have to agree with Dawg though. GET A GUN!!! If your area doesn't have permits to carry concealed then get one for your home.
If someone lays their hands on you then IT'S ON!!!!!!!!!!!! And there are many things that make wonderful weapons around...beer bottles...bats.....wasp spray......brooms......tazers...pepper spray.......
And remember these words when the idiot is laying at your feet in a bloody heap......"I WAS IN FEAR OF MY LIFE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's exactly what you say to law enforcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jimmy! I'm so glad you brought this up. My parents and siblings are all still "in". Yesterday I ran into my sister (who hasn't called me in about 2 yrs or so) and my niece at the store. SUDDENLY they're happy to see me and wanted to talk to me!!!! It seems that my niece will be having some surgery in the near future and wanted me to know. I was in total confusion on that one. So I just tried to reassure her that she'd be fine and let me know what she needs, yadda yadda.
SOOO...I mention this to my Dad. I even said how surprised I was that they actually WANTED to talk to me since they don't even bother to call. He said that they don't call him either and not to let it bother me.
My sister, my niece, and my sister's husband are such good dubs!!!!! BUT they don't bother to contact our parents?????????????????
AND I'm the one(heathen that I am) going over to my parents after work to do yard work to help them(they are 80yrs old).......And I call them most every day and we do things together and I'm interested in their lives....and it goes on and on........but my sister can't be bothered?
My Dad is no dummy!!! I KNOW he sees the contrast!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. i went to an amusement park with friends when i was 17, when getting ready to go on the bumper boats the attendant told me to not step on the rubber part... listening wasn't my strong suite so i stepped on the rubber part and fell in much to the amusement of everyone there.
2. for my 18th birthday my friends took me to see male strippers, my friend held money over my head and when the guy came to collect i refused to put it in his g-string and he called me a prude.
1. bought a gun for protection(I'm a great shot)...
2. dressed as a green M&M for my first Halloween and had a rip roaring drunken good time!!!
Nothing really GREAT, but lots of fun for me!!!!!!

there are a lot of dumb organization men.
gb losch seems to be the top dog for dumbness.. in the local halls i've seen and heard many dumb elders open their mouths.. one elder had a fondness for bible prophecy and watchtower chronology.
he always speculated on what the "watchtower really means" about a statement in print.
I was asked by an elder why a single sister would want to buy a house BY HERSELF! I retorted that I why would I want to be married just to have a house!!! Oh yeah I wasn't supposed to work in public safety either because it wasn't "encouraging". BAH!

brother at our kh last night reveiwed the annual meeting.. nothing earth shattering but went on about how the gb was really being "transparent" and showing who they are and how they think.
that they are people just like us!
they have apparently been pondering the bs change for "years" in order to provide more time for the essential 'family study night" - so much for gas prices suddenly increasing.
Parents have gone from talking about the "End" as being at 9am tomorrow morning to being a few years away yet...........
