  Can you threaten jws with getting police if they don't keep away?

  following on from my post re elder relative (hubbys) refusing to put his bible away and leave when i have a no religious callers sign up as he knows plus i am d'ad i am going to write to the congregation from us both andsay what happenned and not to call or itwill be trespassing and i will take further action.

  does anyone know if i could takefurther action/police etc orwould this justbe an empty threat?

  just wantto make sure they bog off and stop doing this to us, thanks!

  You would have to check with your local police. Most municipalities in the United States have no trespassing laws. In my jurisdiction, you have to ban the person from the property usually in the presence of a police officer. This varies from place to place as it's usually a local ordinance. And at least in my area if you call the police for an "unwanted" and they(JW) gets loud or resistant then that's a trip to jail. I doubt the JW's want that type of attention. I think once you call the police on them they know that you're serious and the others will leave you alone. Hopefully the letter will do the trick and you won't have to resort to calling the police.   I asked Mom about this yesterday....here's what she said... economy reasons....that people are hurting for money badly so they decided to combine meetings to make more time and leave more money for the preaching work........ I'm not sure if this is the "official" reason but it's pretty close....so much for the meeting together more so as the end draws near....maybe "new light" is that meeting together means preaching too........ Mandette (too bad Brooklyn doesn't give gas and food vouchers)

  my bible is a little rusty...did the 1st century Christians really sell their possessions? And if so wasn't that a little premature since "no one knows the hour or day not even the Son"?

  My parents still make the comments about the end being "near"...BUT my father has always encouraged me to be financially responsible and to have a RETIREMENT!!!! Even recently when I was complaining about my required contribution(24% of monthly wages), he said "you'll be happy you have it in the FUTURE"!!!!!!!!!!

  I know this is a little off topic......I wish I could really ask some questions of my father....BUT I'm more worried about keeping my wonderful relationship with him.......who knows though I may be able to do it subtly...in the form of questions.......

  They're cutting down drastically on the meetings BUT still preaching INTERNET EVIL, COLLEGE EVIL, etc.....

  I'm confused...

  Mom said Dad would "tell me all about it" so I'm sure I can get the accurate stuff. I'll have to ask why. That should be really interesting.

  Since the attitude and belief is that Armageddon is at 9am sharp tomorrow, I'm surprised they're cutting back.....

  hmmmm.....will have to be circumspect about that then.......for obvious reasons Mom and Dad do not know I'm on this site.......I'll keep my ears open though....they are always saying things to me to try to get me to come back so I'm sure that'll come up.......I do remember hearing Dad talk about the CO stuff like expenses for vehicles,etc. I seem to remember(?) that some CO's had insurance paid for????I was young at the time so I don't know if they were talking medical or car or what. I'm sure it's gotten extremely expensive. Maybe that's a reason??????

  I just wonder what they have up their sleeve(the organization) with all these changes......

  yeah I knew it'd been mentioned once or twice beforeI couldn't remember exact things though.

  I've not heard about the CO's. What is the poop with that? I think I may be able to fish around to find out more. Dad is an elder. I'm sure he'll tell me if it's not super top secret stuff.

  Witnesses stay for the convention and my wife tells them were divorcing!

  she told me hours before their arrival that she wants us to divorce....i asked her to not tell them as it would spoil our few days together and cause stress for all of us...she agreed.....and then told them on day 2????

  i was sooo damn stressed out i was bearly holding it together.

  My soon Ex- wife acts crazy sometimes! Wants me to live across the road!

  my wife and i now are organising seperation....she wants me to buy the house directly across the street from her!!??

  the house is nice...polished floor boards etc.

  i think she wants me there for security as she is afraid to be alone.

  I can recommend some good meds! Seriously though it sounds like she's going through a very rough time for a lot of different reasons. And coming from a Communist country her fear of being watched may be very well grounded.....sounds like she still cares about you if she wants you across the street...

  I hope she feels better soon.
