Too funny.
I could think of examples for many of those... I'm glad none of them apply to me.
Hmmm

please can everyone think twice before they make posts containing bad language (even if not directed at individuals), graphic sex talk and nude or semi-nude pictures (especially if explicit).
this is not what the forum is here for.
if you want to post stuff like that then there are lots of places on the internet for it and, more importantly, if people want to see and read stuff like that then they are quite capable of going to these places themselves.. i know everyone likes to 'let their hair down' now and again, me included, and i like pictures of sexy women as much as anyone .
Englishman,
Too funny! How un-british of you! (Not that brits aren't funny, it's just a different brand of humor)
okay here is the situation in a nutshell: i am being offered a job with the former vice president of my current place of employment.. here is the details:.
i got hired at an ipo in late april.
it was the ceo, 2 vice presidents and me.
Joining a startup is always risky. You take lower pay because there's a chance of really hitting it big. But it sounds like you're already in this position with your current job. That's why, to me, the 2K salary difference is a non-issue. Both are start-ups, so both are going to offer you bottom dollar.
Get specific details about the future growth for your position at the new company, and compare it with the growth potential with your current company.
One thing I would ask about is getting stock options now. If this company does take off, you want those founders shares.
You could also hint at this offer to your current company and see if they'll sweeten your current deal.
Hmmm
i hope farkel won't kick my ass too high or too far for posting this here, but i don't recall seeing it here anytime recently, and it is just sooooo much fun.. i'm concerned though, that farkel's affection for fred franz may be dangerously close to the infatuation point.
he has the fred franz action figure, i hear.. - - -.

Hate to bring up unpleasant parallels, but in RoTJ, doesn't Luke lose a body part?
Do you plan on discussing particular doctrinal things, or your feelings in general? Whichever it is, best of fortu.... er, luck to you.

last thursday.
i happened to see some tabloid reports stating that she went home in tears blah blah.
just to share my experience with her she did basically state that she distrusted the judicial system and there was a lawyer that seemed to question her rather harshly imo but she's not all the tabloids really make her out to be (this was not the first time we had met btw).
Hmmmmmmm decisions, decisions...
Welcome to the board, Martin.

I didn't know Bill Clinton was an ex-JW
are you a nerd?.
http://www.armory.com/tests/nerd.html.
you answered "yes" to 37 of 100 questions - you have 37.0% nerd in you.. your weirdness factor is 30%, based on a comparison of your test results with 109450 other submissions for this test.
42% nerd (and I'm not a programmer)

And yes, I have worn a calculator.

bonovox,
You're new to this forum, so you don't know that I often use 50 words when 10 will do--even lawyers think I talk too much. In the process, I appear to be coming on more strongly than I intend. I should have probably said "there's nothing wrong with questions, but don't expect to have every one answered" and left it at that.
Here is what I do believe: that it will be difficult, and cmon, given the circumstances, it'd be hard for any of us in this situation, to report everything that is going on with it with complete objectivity. I also noticed some gaps in the paper trail, so to speak, and so just wanted to investigate a little more. Two good points. Bill has never claimed to be 100% objective (how many activists are?), and I just kinda ignore the 'all elders are pedophiles' crowd.I also believe, and its not a phenomenon exclusive to xJw forums, that whenever someone builds a case such as Mr. Bowens has, that extremist nutbars will line up behind them without any real factual knowledge and make the wildest assertions in the name of supporting such a person. You are clearly not that type of person, I'm referring to someone who would say something like 'all elders are pedophiles'.
PS I take it Simon is the owner of the forum? Really, I just joined this week and don't know about all the politics of other people posing with different aliases. I would welcome such verification but I guess I'd hope that my email etc would remain private, right? One thing I can tell you is that while I may be outspoken and frequently have to rethink my positions, I will always post on this board with this name and this name only and would never mislead the board in any other manner. It's a neverending game. JWs come here pretending to be ex-JWs, and ex-JWs go to the JW boards pretending to be JWs with honest questions. It makes everyone very suspicious.
Pathofthorns is right about cutting you slack. Troll is a very dirty word around here lately, and I didn't intend to imply that you were one. I was just trying to make a point. In calling for reasonable questions, I guess I gave the appearance of unreasonableness, myself.
Thank you for your measured response, and a belated "welcome" to the board.
Hmmm
(Not gunna be the one to quote scriptures about "an answer, when mild...")
many hundreds of people read this site who are not subscribed, and i would suspect that the vast majority are jw's looking for answers to an internal turmoil that they may be living with.. the information posted on this board does get read and then passed among many congregations of jw's.
this information is a powerful force and is a wonderful thing for those who are seeking to be informed, and a not so wonderful thing to those in brooklyn who are seeking to harness the boundaries of knowledge.. given this scenario, and how much credibility can be lost by xjw's who perpetuate gossip and innuendo, can we check our sources and facts very carefully before we post information to this board.
there is no particular nobility in being first with news about some aspect of wts life.
I don't think many would argue Hillary's basic premise (that spreading rumor and innuendo as fact is less than stellar behavior) is a sound one. I think that the normally-eloquent Hillary expressed himself poorly in his very first post and led a number of people to misunderstand his point.
Venting aside, we all use personal experiences to make our points. I really don't see the reason for all the c/overt insults and flippant dismissals over a matter of opinion.
Crawdad,
You're dead wrong about Hillary being a JW at heart. I think you misunderstood his first post (as did I) and... well... you're an excitable fellow. Just as you defended your right to rant, he defended his right to be stoic. I forgive you because you seem newly Out, and I forgive Hillary because he's British.
bay64, There has always been a bit of a split among members as to the "purpose" of this board. Many think we should post with the lurkers in mind, and tone down the sex talk and fighting. Others say, "screw the lurkers; I'm finally free, and I'll vent and talk about anything I want." So I guess you were both right and wrong. This board is not FOR the lurkers, but it's not just FOR the ranters, either.
Hmmm
