  HONESTLY, Do You Consider Yourself A Nice Person?

  do you really feel that you are a nice person or an unlikeable one?

  when you were in a congregation, did you tend to get along with people?

  When I was still in, I was kinda shunned by the other young people in the cong, cause they were afraid I would rat on them to my father.

  The adults loved me and saw me as a good example and what they strived to make their children into.

  After I was out, I found I could be myself and I was liked by many because I wasn't fake to anyone. Of course I was taken advantage of alot because of my brutal honesty and trust of others. Well, being so sheltered it takes a while to get used to the way things "really" work.

  Overall I like who I am now alot more than then since I can be MYSELF and I am very happy instead of having to lead a double life. Pleasing everyone else, and never being happy is something I don't miss at all.

  Awaiting punishment.?

  yesterday november 3rd my husband and i had a visit from three elders( grand jury) as we had given them proof of the affliation of the wtbts to the un.they wanted us to recant and say the society was telling the truth (same old thing only for libary pass not ngo) and to say that the un were liars(all 30,000 who work there, apparently jw's also work there).

  when we refused to compromise our integrity after 21/2 hours they departed saying they would let us know their decision!!.

  we were obviously wrong when we thought only jehovah was the judge, so there you go, we were wrong again!

  when nobody lets me out of the side road onto the freeway.

  I have no human contact! A CRY FOR HELP!

  i live here in las vegas and for the past two months, with the expection of formalities like asking for directions and saying hello, i have had no human contact with anyone.

  The member on this board by the handle name Mum-----has a daughter in Las Vegas. She lives there.Try emailing her and I don't see why she wouldn't give you the # or maybe someone else her daughter may know there. Just a suggestion.

  Are You Embarrassed To Admit You Were A Witness?

  if the subject of religion or even jehovah's witnesses ringing your doorbell has come up, do you shy away from talking about ever being a witness?

  some have indicated that they felt stupid for ever believing in the watchtower.

  others have said they have a responsibility to help others not get involved in this "cult".

  LOL @ min------To be honest I was really good at it, but had alot of anger inside toward men, perfect place to vent without going to jail, didn't see it that way then, just really loved doing it. After I stopped I did notice I wasn't as angry as before. NOW THAT'S what I call THERAPY!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  First Halloween

  let me say first of all, i have never been a big fan of halloween.

  the witches, monsters, etc, never appealed to me.. last night, my family and i were invited to a friend of a friends house for food and trick or treating.

  my first inclination, was to find a way to weasel out of it.

  I am glad you two got to meet each other. It is simply amazing how good it feels to talk to someone who KNOWS what you are talking about. To try and explain the way JW's truely are to someone who doesn't understand is frustrating and really in vain to make them truely understand it. The lingo and certain word phrases mean nothing to others but can be the pun of many jokes, etc.

  I went to my first apostofest this yr and enjoyed myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait till Nov 9th when we DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Well, since I lost my job and my boyfriend's vacation is about over I will once again be on the hunt for a job.

  My days have been really layed back for some time, and am very thankful for that. I get up early afternoon, brush teeth, shower, and go downstairs and get online. I try and help those I know on SL or here if they are asking, and to help those who are new and asking for help or support. I find that very rewarding and have made many friends on different boards.

  Weekends I have my son and so I spend time with him, and since he doesn't know what being a JW is our time is spent doing ANYTHING we want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the time we have and he is growing up so fast it simply amazes me.

  I have a pretty stess free life for the first time in my life, due to a VERY supportive (non-JW-lol) boyfriend. He doesn't understand why I am so involved in Silentlambs, but supports me in ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING I do.

  I love my life now and hope everyone does feel or will feel this way!!!!!!!! It has been a LONG road and a VERY bumpy one, but I have overcome alot and wouldn't take most of it back, because of the lessons I have learned. I have some regrets, but that stems from bad choices I made when I was working in clubs. I have grown from them and they will provide me with the information I may need in guiding my son when he becomes a teenager.

  I used to bring up the subject of being a preacher's daughter daily, and several times a day when I was stripping. I had the bad girl (dominatrix) theme in the clubs. So, it just added fuel to the fire. When asked what religion my father was I would play a guessing game with them. I would ask them to think of the strictest religion they could think of. Baptist was usually the first mentioned, but when I finally told them the responce was usually the same--- OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would always laugh and found alot of sympathy for my upbringing, and they found it funny the occupation I had chosen.

  As far as discussing religion, the only time I did was when I was asked in the club why they didn't celebrate holidays. Since I have been out for some time, I would just give a basic answer, at least what I could remember.

  Talking religion with anyone is impossible for me and I usually choose not to engage in them. I have nothing to add to it, since I don't know what to believe anymore. I know I don't believe what I was taught and choose to not go to church and haven't prayed in--well, I don't even remember the last time. Unless you count "Oh god if you get me through this I will never drink again!" LOL

  Anyways, just my experience.
