Halloween!!!! What are you going to wear?

i realize that not everyone here is from the states but those who are:.

a) are you going to celibrate and/or party!.

b) what are you going to wear???.

Well, my son picked out a costume of a ninja, but with a "death" twist to it. You should see the mask, looks like something from a horror flick.

My boyfriend (Alex) bought me a beautiful medival "commoner" outfit at a medival fair this past summer. It is layered and was VERY hot, but I felt beautiful wearing it (in over 90 degree F weather) and he even bought me a headdress, equipped with flowers (fake ones last longer lol) and ribbons extending down to my lower back. It is supposed to be cold (in TX 40degrees F is cold) so it is the perfect outfit, and it just gives me a reason to wear it again, being I didn't buy a costume this yr. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What did you do to piss the brothers off?

when you were getting fed up with meetings before you gave up, was there anything you did to deliberately get on the brothers nerves?.

i turned up to a meeting once with jeans on, and a red top with cccp on it with the 'hammer and sickle'.

i also went to another bs group a few times so that if i wasnt at one group they'd think i was at the other and vice versa.

My mom walked into my room while I was changing and saw a hicky on my chest!! My father was an elder and so I was brought in frount of a Comm. Meeting. I never confessed to anything, which led to my df. Just like I planned---------I was still a virgin at the time!

well i had the surgery 3 weeks ago and it looks very good.

the doctor said the cancer hasn't spread any further (thank god!

) but they still want me to have radiation.

first timer

well, i have been checking this board for a few days and love reading the comments.

i remember starting going to the meetings when i was 5 and continued till i stopped going to the meetings about 10 yrs ago......total of 25 yrs to the meetings.

i remember as a kid not being able to celebrate birthdays or stuff like that and wearing our dresses up to our knees....that was awful.

Thank you for sharing some of your story and I am sorry for the loss of your parents.

I think the world of you for writting your best friend and apologizing to her. I know it took alot and I am sure it meant the world to her.

When I was df'd at 15 my best friend (we were friends since I was 5 or 6) would still talk to me on the phone, and then one day she told me she couldn't talk to me anymore. We had promised each other since we were kids we would be the maid of honor in each others wedding. Well, I didn't even find out she was married untill almost a yr after she was married. She was severely physically abused by him and they finally allowed her to divorce him.

I saw her at a resturant a couple yrs ago while having lunch with my mom ( she isnt df'd or da either). She was with a group of JW's some of whom I have known since I was 5. We caught eyes from across the room and I smiled at her. She turned her head with no responce to my smile. They all talked to my mom ( she left the table of course) and my "friend" never looked at me after that first meeting of our eyes. It hurts me to this day that I couldn't be there for her when she really needed me. I hope that one day, some day we can be friends again. She holds a special place in my heart to this day. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH for getting in contact with your friend, I know how much it would have meant to me to recieve such a letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been guilty of loosing my temper and saying things I shouldn't have or should have said differently.

I believe alot of the times things going on in someone's life makes them react in a way they normally wouldn't. This is not an excuse but a fact.

I have started a thread before apologizing for my rash behavior and I have since then tried to not reply when emotions (my emotions) are going crazy.

I don't want to ever believe that friendship is conditional ever again either. It sometimes takes us taking a step back and seeing how we would have felt if someone where to have said or done the same thing to us or someone we love. At times we have to put pride aside and forgive or apologize.

I do also believe however at times it may be better to end a friendship based on the history of it and if it is a healthy thing for us or for them. That depends on the people involved and the circumstances.

Just my thoughts,

Do You Ever Miss It?

i was in a hormonal state the last couple of days, feeling a little melancholy.....sometimes when i feel like this, i miss being a jw.

don't get me wrong, i have not intention of ever going back.

i've come to realize what i miss is the naivety, the black & white thinking, allowing the organization to pretty much guide my every thought.

The only thing I miss is thinking they were my "true friends". It really hurts knowing for the smallest things they shunned me. My father was the one who should've been shunned and alot in the cong knew it, but did nothing and shunned ME!

It was a hurtful revelation but I am glad I learned it young. It made me see those who truely LOVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
