  Just wondering who on this board has a spouse that is fully in and your awake?

  i am just curious who on this board is in the same situation has i am?

  a spouse that is fully brain doogled in and you are awake to ttatt.. without going into serious detail and no names are given.

  i would like to possible talk with one of you all, it's just so helpful to communicate with someone in the same situation as me.. i am located in the southwest united states..

  Special Talk from the GB?

  a current jw told me there was going to be a special talk (tm) from the governing body(r) next month.

  apart from the usual hilarious jw tv stuff, i haven't heard of anything.. any info any one?

  Don't have full details yet, but GB members are no going to be in the UK only helpers on this Branch Visit.

  It will on a Saturday for 3 hours including WT study.

  In other words, another torture session!

  Last time when GB member Sanderson was visiting, he announced that coincidentally during his visit the approval for Chelmsford plans was granted by the authorities.

  Wonder what sort of coincidence this time will occur.

  Ideas for letter to Dr about blood card blackmail and what it means?

  following on from another op who brought to our attention the new draconian blood card policy .i'm planning on visiting my dr to discuss this issue in advance.

  i'm planning on telling her how jw's and possibly me will be blackmailed into signing this but really won't want the hlc involved and may want blood if needed.. i'm thinking about writing a letter that could be kept on file for future reference outling these issues, what do you think i should say in it?

  As per announcement:

  - The new card is advertised as simplified card to take the most important decision in your life - no need to worry about fractions,etc - it is simple: I refuse to take any WHOLE blood.

  - All have to sign the card and provide a copy to:

  1- Secretary,

  2- Each witness

  3- GP

  4- Lawyer
  

  The letter did not hint to the new paragraph that states no other legal paper work can take precedence over this directive.

  Copies of the directive to be given to the witnesses is new.

  I am refusing to sign it, let alone give copies to anyone. What is their data protection policy regarding individuals? What about how they handle my data in a congregation!

  This new directive is extremely annoying. Waiting to see how elders will witch hunt members. I never gave a copy of my old directive to the secretary or even GP. I dont even carry it.

  i used to be one and the expectation , to be in good standing, is minimum 10 hours. Not achieving 10hrs means service office will have a chat with you on why you can not achieve this.

  Down by 8: 73 (2015) vs 65 (2016). Also no one from territory or with invites only non JW families attending inflated normal attendance.

  Do you mean my wife would have accepted my proposal if both were not JW? No way - she is out of my league! But now we are both on the same page, play the game and keep family away.

  on the german board we recently had a discussion about the people that were involved in the production of the aid-book and that later left the organization.

  in coc the following persons are mentioned in connection with the aid-book project: lyman swingle, john wischuk, raymond franz and reinhard lengtat.

  franz and lengtat later left the jw.

  JW TV Monthly Broadcast - 3rd unofficial Meeting!

  did any one notice that the monthly broadcast on jw tv is being treated like a meeting similar to the old book study arrangement?.

  at our kh, in uk, all congregations meeting at the hall have a monthly arrangement for this.

  some have a group arrangement and alternate between family homes to watch the broadcast and some use the kh on weekends.. this arrangement in our congregation, at least, is being treated as a meeting for each of the groups.

  @darkspilver: My understanding was the broadcast at a KH level is for anyone who can not watch it at his own comfort.

  Although our KH advertise the dates for the broadcast, 3 congregations have their own arrangements at a group level. As per friends comments, the KH broadcast is watched by around 30 odd members, mostly elderly. The figure peaks when refreshments and food is served afterwards, as usual.

  So i think some are using this as an additional tool for more control!
