  im a huge cowboy fan but i dont think they will make it to the super bowl, damn sure would love to be wrong.

  I can say I was very impressed with the texans performance and totally disgusted with the cowboys .It was a must win and they were totally out played by an expansion team .The season is still young soooooooooooooooooooooooo let's go cowboys .

  Why Should JWs Fight Persecution?

  i know that this has been debated before and i even started a thread 'way back when' about this very topic.

  but, i can't understand why or how jws can justify trying to end persecution against them.. here is the argument: jw's believe they are the only "true" christians on earth today.

  they often quote the scripture of when jesus said that they will hate you on account of his name and because his followers would be no part of the world.

  this is an interesting question.No one wants to be persecuted even though the bible does say that those that are for the sake of preaching the good news will rejoyce in the kingdom of the heavens .However since they have come out with the revelation book I can see the interpretation of revelations 12:15 where they state that the world political powers are capeable of ending the waves of persecution ,it's possible they hope that the earth will come to their aid once again.However that would be a false hope at this point ,much like ancient Isreal putting hope in egypt when the babylonians were attacking Isreal.

  why do the jw ?

  why do the jw lock their publications in cabinets ?i noticed on my visits to the local cong.

  that they are so anal about their publications in the congregations that they have locks on their cabinets where they keep the magazines and bibles .

  i can't help but wonder if they are worried about the publishers helping themselves .well ,i'm open to any explainations.

  That's kinda the way I see it .Here they are claiming all publication are available for suggested donations,they supposedly did away with the cost of publication promotions and just left it to peoples conscience but as we see they became even more cost conscience themselves .It seems hypocritical that an organization that claims they trust in jehovah to provide needed funds would then show a tight fisted aproach to their own people.Let's not forget that the love of money is the root to all sorts of injurious things.

  tomorrow, mozart's requiem mass will be performed in every time zone around the world.

  it's being called the "rolling requiem" and the idea originated in seattle.

  most, if not all, performances are free of charge.. although this piece of music was written with the latin words of a ritual roman catholic death mass, the music is transcendent of religion.

  I do remember seeing Amadeus the movie and enjoyed it very much.Do you think it was salieri that killed mozart, farkel ? Although Mozart was an eccentric in the movie ,who knows about in real life?, it was ovious he was a genius.It showed him being bullied by people with wealth and influence but maintained his integrity to his art.I would have to say Mozart would be the man in any era .

  What do you mean being performed ? I'm in central time zone so what time ? I like classical music and mozart was the man in his day.

  Did you Stifle Jesus??

  just watching old archie bunker show and the thought occurs to me, something i've wondered about before.. how do jw's --who were brought up in other religions first--learn to accept the doctrine that lowers jesus to less than god?

  did you stifle jesus ?

  it would seem a difficult transition to make, at least from the "outside".. i know several here are now non-believers, and that's ok. but i would like to hear more answers from those who still believe.

  In all fairness ,when you read the bible you find that there is no trinity and that Jesus was clearly the only begotten son of God.I think the problem is reverse what you are stating because the God of the old testament did not go by the name jesus either and is stifled through out christiandom.

  Hockey ... why?

  in my area hockey is mentioned and known so little, that you would be hard pressed to find any sports memorabilia.

  none of the schools play it, and the nearest team is over 8 hours away.

  the local news does not even broadcast the scores, and you would have a hard time finding one person in town who knows who the stanley cup was won by last year.

  You have got to be kidding me .Hockey is the best team sport in the world .california has 3 teams that have been in the playoffs in the past 5 years . san jose, los angeles, and anahiem. Arizona even has a team in pheonix.I am willing to bet the way the league is expanding oregon will have a team in the next couple of years. go stars go
