  when i was looking at prepping back in the 90s i was told by several elders that we needed to just rely on the org and jehovah and not prep.

  i started to put away vacuum sealed bags of rice beans and spices anyway.

  now they have this go bag crap.

  let people make their own decisions.

  Sweden did that and in that country they have had three times the number of deaths than its two neighboring countries Norway and Finland.

  Think about what would happen in the greater New York area if there was no lock down as to what was implemented.

  There be thousands of bodies lying dead out the streets with people not knowing what to do .

  Think of Italy and its major cities what would happen if there was no lock down in those cites?

  Government officials not only have to deal with a deadly contagious virus in the health and safety of the population but also create calm, order and civil obedience.

  It pays to note these restrictions were implemented not by up in the air speculation but proven factual scientific evidence.

  The choice being, no restrictions that accumulated in an enormous number of deaths so much so that in place Healthcare facilities were over burdened or enforced social restrictions with a limited amount of deaths which no doubt will cause something of a temporary financial melt down ?

  Thats a poor analogy that doesn't relate to this unique situation does it ?

  Lets say you went to a bar one day for a pint and the server wasn't feeling the best, you didn't know that yourself, the server had the beginning symptoms of the virus and the person coughed a bit onto the glass that they poured your beer into and you drank from that glass resulting you yourself catching the virus, maybe even die.

  This wouldn't be a fictional scenario but one based upon factual evidence.

  even though she had the legal right to an offspring by his family he still thought he was sleeping with a prostitute.

  if it is wrong to even think of having relations with a woman similar to the “sin” of watching pornography why wouldn’t what judah did be wrong?

  Yes the ancient Hebews got away with a lot particularity to those who were high up on the social ladder within that civilization.
  

  Ironically so do the GB members and their wives.
  

  But what about what have the leaders of the WTS (GB) have gotten away with, in their involvement to instigate deaths, ruination of individuals in their education and pursuit of health and well being ?

  Add in the destruction of millions of families, the list goes on....

  Its easy to criticize people (governments officials) for their decisions and enforced laws until the responsibility rests on your own shoulders.

  To make a situational analogy, lets say the governments said well folks go about your own daily routines as in work, social actives, schooling, business, pleasure etc. as you will but it would be advisable to wear a face mask, rubber gloves (PPE) etc.

  What would happen to the number of cases occurring and the number of deaths in comparison to how the governments have actually enacted ?
  

  All businesses had the option to remain open with no restrictions, such as restaurants bars, pubs, no restrictions on air travel, border crossings etc.

  People's liberties were left intact and unbounded by enforced restrictions.
  

  Can you imagine what would have resulted from taking that positional stand ?

  Quite frankly I've hated these restrictions as much as anyone else and I'm glad they are going to be lifted soon.
  

  I do agree with this judge's statement that these restrictions have stepped on people liberties a bit but it was done so for the protection and well being for the greater population as a whole. Now lets lift them and get working on that vaccination.

  Personal liberty at the cost of causing the death of unexpected innocent ones..

  England has suffered the worse death rate in Europe because it didn't lock down soon enough.

  There were certain elements to this pandemic which were unknown, so decisions had to by implemented by government officials from what they did know.

  Yes there was an engagement of fear and panic mixed in with a bit of ignorance to be sure.
  

  Yes this did take a hit onto personal liberties perhaps but governments are in place to react to situations like this for the betterment of the population to which they govern over.

  I dont think this Judge really knows how viruses like this spreads about in a general populated social environment.

  ie. Merely talking to someone within close proximity (2 Feet) can transfer the virus to between two people.

  Yes these lock up restriction have been harsh and difficult but the consequences of not having them my have resulted into matters a lot worse, there is nothing worse than death in the human experience.

  i am 15 years old and recently just doubting this whole religion that was introduced to me when i was very small from a very good family friend.

  doubt obviously comes with shame and guilt and i hate those feelings because it feels like i'm betraying this whole organization that i grew up in.... anyways, i've been doing research and found that jehovah's witnesses dislike/shun kids who attend colleges & universities that are more than 4 years long?

  have you heard of this?

  Welcome to the forum Galaxia.

  I hate those feelings because it feels like I'm betraying this whole organization that I grew up in...

  You shouldn't be made to feel unloyal to this pretentious organization when its realized this organization is founded by lies, ignorance, fear, corruption, coercion, exploitation and manipulation.

  It was and still is an organization that creates power and money for a few select men and that's mostly the reason it exists.

  Most religious organizations were founded and built upon these principle endeavors.

  Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

  i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

  nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

  over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

  Lets not forget about how the elders (power consumers) like to watch over the flock to see what the rest the congregation are doing , ie. what they are wearing, hair length and visual observation etc.. .

  This suggestion that the Jworg. is going to piddled down wholly to a online religious organization is improbable speculation.
