my circumstances were a mixture of the two, I read CoC etc and was semi fading, made the mistake of voicing my views etc, invited to a JC but was not DF'ed I said I was sorry for stumbling others, would study more blah blah blah, I continued to fade though as my mind was made up 100% but I was keeping my thoughts to myself generally, about one year in I was trapped by a speaker phone conversation by the PO and answered the "loyalty" questions about the ORG that would end up getting me DA'ed in my absence I believe, I was never informed of any announcement and had no clue whatsoever about my status as a jw, it meant little in reality, shortly after I moved away, got divorced and got on with my life, if I could turn back the clock I would have been a bit more cautious when answering those questions from the PO, it caused a lot of upheaval but I got over it. A properly planned "fade" is far different, one has to be very careful who you speak to about doctrinal matters if you speak to anyone at all.

Question for those that have been Disfellowshiped for apostasy VS succesfully fading
by NikL inthere are quite a few here who have been disfellowshipped for apostasy.. then there are those that have successfully faded.. why the different outcome?
are the ones that got df more out spoken?
or does the discrepancy lie with the elders?.

Knock knock."Who's there? Two elders!!
by Darkknight757 inso today was a cold and snowy day in my neck of the woods and the wife and i were just chilling around the house waiting to go to the church tonight for a candle lighting service when lo and behold we get a knock on the door.
yup, 2 elders from my old hall.
i figured they were fishing for some time so i invited them in and gave them some coffee and we talked about everything that happened and why we walk away from the jw's.

there is no one single shred of biblical evidence that the ransom promised a resurrection of hundreds of billions to a paradise earth after The Great T and at the end of the 1000 years, one one single shred.

Preaching work already done - not for now
by stockholm_Syndrome incompare what happened during the apostolic period -col 1:23:provided, of course, that you continue in the faith, established on the foundation and steadfast, not being shifted away from the hope of that good news that you heard and that was preached in all creation under heaven.+ of this good news i, paul, became a minister.rom 16:26but has now been made manifest* and has been made known through the prophetic scriptures among all the nations according to the command of the everlasting god to promote obedience by faith;who was the preaching commission, or coming forward as a witness given to?
remembering context, audience and purpose….john 15:27;and you, in turn, are to bear witness,+ because you have been with me from the beginning.hmmm i personally wasn't with jesus from the beginning ---were you ?matt 11:1when jesus had finished giving instructions to his 12 disciples, he set out from there to teach and preach in their cities.i wasn't one of his original 12 disciples ---where you?matthew 28:16-20however, the 11 disciples went to galʹi·lee to the mountain where jesus had arranged for them to meet.
17 when they saw him, they did obeisance, but some doubted.18 jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “all authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.

s_s , their message is irrelevant, pointless,a venomous poison, and so is the bibles,it holds no point to our lives whatsoever, but our experiences are not of course not, a huge percentage of us can pull their doctrinal belief system apart in a few mere moments, but forums like this offer far far more than trying to decipher pointless biblical so called prophecy, I steer anyone away from even reading the bible or worshipping the god of it.

100% Schnell, in the grand scheme of things it holds zero relevance to any one past/present or the future, the message of doomsday cults is really very tiring and really who cares?

JW Policy Regarding "Marking" From The Nov 2016 WT
by JW_Rogue injws will deny that local needs parts are often just a way to mark those in the congregation who are deemed to be "bad association" or who don't fall in line with the elders viewpoints.
now, for the first time in a long time the wt discusses their marking policy and how it works in the nov study wt:.
recall paul’s counsel regarding disorderly ones in the congregation.

I view my marking as a badge of honour, its all quite stupid though as the markee is never formally informed he is marked, well at least I was'nt

Elder wants to stop by with the CO for a visit .
by NikL inso i got a text from an elder who i consider one of the good guys and a friend in his own way.. he asked if he could bring the co by for a visit.
he said it would be "just a pleasant call and visit and will hopefully encourage my wife".
he says that "he knows she is dealing with a ton of pressure".. in all my years around the organization, i never had a visit from the circuit overseer.

this elder is being particularity devious and dishonest, pretending to have the dates mixed up and bringing the date forward, give them nothing, you owe them nothing, dont waste your time with these small minded pedantic idiots, they clearly have an issue they feel the need to talk with you about, tell him to whistle Dixie!

THE BIG A: RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.
by Mary inwhere did all the witnesses over the decades get the idea that armageddon was right around the corner?
the society certainly never put anything like that down in print:
*** w56 10/15 p. 614 when will gods kingdom come?

I hit the big five zero this year, the prospect of leaving school and entering the workplace was a preposterous thought when I was a kid, even if I was a believer I'd think the prospect of The Big A even more of a distant possibility as there are so many so called bible prophecies to be fulfilled, I'm resigned to growing old and grey and returning to dust!

Do any of the governing body of JWs exercise their conscience?
by Half banana inthe members of the governing body, by being at the reins of a large corporation, must be confronted with situations which force them to think about the validity of their doctrines.. the australian royal commission hearing must have highlighted for the gb, especially jackson, the rational inconsistency of using an iron age dictum of "two witnesses" in a world which has moved beyond such rough justice.
today we have a scientific approach, we examine forensically, we have psychologists who can tell us about individual's minds and behaviour.
today, children's voices are not ignored.. the first and last resort of jws and their leaders is the doctrine of the "inerrancy of the bible".

definitely your alarm bells should be ringing, the elder is clearly lying, nothing positive will come out of this visit, there will be loaded questions about your loyalty to the Borg, they must have some suspicions about you and do you know this CO?, one of very last meetings I ever attended was a CO visit shortly after my JC hearing, he cornered me and bombarded my with "loyalty to the organisation" questions, a few months down the line my wife arranged a meeting with the new CO supposedly because he wanted to "encourage" me, I declined, I echo the advice here and inform the "good guy elder" you will contact him if you need any meet ups/encouraging/shepherding call etc, tell him not to call/email/text as well.

there have been rumours about Samuel Herd not believing a word of it any more, but would he resign at his age? not a chance, the latest rumour I've just been reading is that Lett could be forced out, not because of his religious standpoint more than likely the utter embarrassment he causes them, will we see another Ray Franz? I dont see it, these latest group of GB members carry less power now than they ever have had since the formation of the big group in the early 1970's
