JWs in denial, so sad

i had a couple of jw sisters call at my door today.. they started with the bizarre "can we read you a scripture" and read about "death being no more" and asked what i thought of that.. i said it sounded like a mix of disney and dumb.. they then launched into how god was going to put an end to death and wasn't that wonderful?.

i said it would have been more wonderful if he'd not created death in the first place.. they thought man created death by disobeying so i questioned why god couldn't have just forgiven them.

apparently "because he loves us" is supposed to be a satisfactory answer to why he kills us.. i asked how loving it was to kill hundreds of thousands of children in tsunami's, disease and so on.. at this point, they gave up on the 'god is love' and switched to the bible being true no matter what because it was an old book and moses had written the first chapter (says the book).. when i suggested it really wasn't that old and that most of the bible myths were copies of older stories from before it was written they questioned if i studied the bible and theology.. then i told them i was brought up as a jw so knew it was all crap.. now it was game on, they immediately switched to play defence questioning why i'd left (and i think they'd already taken a step back away from "the evil" obviously emanating from me).. not much time to say much before they cut and run so i told them i'd left because i found out it was all based on lies and that the watchtower was corrupt and covered up things like child abuse.. oh no, you're thinking of the catholics one of them said (some disdain in how she said "catholics" as though "we're so much better than them").. "well, i challenge you to do a search for the australian royal commission and you'll see the testimony the watchtower leaders gave and the damning evidence that they covered up abuse and reported none of it to the police.".

DisArmed, they are haemorrhaging members like in no other stage in their history,social media/web blogs and forums like this are getting massive amount of lurking visitors, their only growth comes from third world nations who are not web savvy, the stats dont lie

Sir thats what I think, holding them in vast sports stadiums are a thing of the past because of the huge cost and safety requirements etc, indoor arenas must still be very expensive though, holding them in their own CA halls must be the way to go for them now.

a good anti witness, the amount of exposure the ARC has been getting recently can only lead to one thing, more haemorrhaging of members.The last couple of chats I've had about the ARC and the usual response that its all lies etc I tell them the victims are speaking out, are the victims lying?

Why it's a waste of time talking to JW's

i believe it to be a waste of time talking to, reasoning with, jw's if you expect any kind of quick result.. many of us when we first wake up think that 'coz ttatt is blindingly obvious to us, it will soon get through to our jw loved ones.. this simply isn't so for a couple of important reasons.

the first is that, if someone believes something is true, or the truth, to them it really is, without doubt, true.

so whatever you say must be wrong somehow.. the second problem is that jw's simply do not have to use, or pay any attention to facts and logic.

I've had some great chats anti witnessing on their carts, I remember speaking to a guy in my town centre about their UN membership, his reactions was a look of being gob smacked, I still to this day have not seen him out again, I had another very good chat with a couple of ladies at very busy stations in London on seperate occasions I have lost count how many times I've been able to speak about the ARC to them, who knows what these little snippets and morsels do in unlocking their mindsets,only last week I had a very brief chat in a town centre close to me about the generation of 1914, they guy standing there looked genuinely surprised, they haemorrhage members, their Google buttons are only a nano second away from them, dont underestimate the work activism does.

Demon possesion, bunch of crap or?

i've been using the forum to vent and post a lot more frequently lately as a venting purpose & way to obtain peace of mind with the craziness i've been going through recently as i fade away form the org.

anyways today i'm sitting here at work and thinking to myself about demons... ok i know this sounds crazy but has anyone else out there been traumatized by the thought of demons?

i had a dream the other night, just flat out spooky and i woke and couldn't help but feeling it may have been evil ole' satan and his demons at it again.. i don't want to believe that, (trying not to, & just brushing it under the rug so to speak) but have any of you out there been talked up about demons?

went through a phase during my teens years of being petrified of spirits,demonic possession etc, it didn't help with an almost addiction to horror films particularly like like The Exorcist,The Omen, The Evil Dead etc, now many years later I'm completely free of such ridiculous fear and worry, there is nothing out there, during my fade though my wife and sister did comment that they felt I was possessed even by then I was not in any doubt that it was all a lot of fear fearmongering superstitious nonsense.
