The NWT was never accurate by any measure
It is the only translation that complies with the Holy Watchtower. Other translations don't so they can't be accurate.

Matthew 24:14 is fulfilled by Wikipedia, not Watchtower
by processor inaccording to matthew 24:24, the good news must be preached "to all the nations", and "in order to give a witness to 'all the nations,' we must present ... truth in different languages.
" (our kingdom ministry, 12/12, page 3).
so, which publication is available in most languages today?.

How many people are using Wikipedia to spread or receive the "good news"?
I think it's quite evident that neither the Watchtower nor Wikipedia meet all the requirements for "the true religion" ;) ... But I've heard many times that the number of languages was used to prove that it's God's organisation etc. ...

Is (a possible) revised NWT prompted by lapsing copyright?
by slimboyfat inin the united states i gather that copyright lasts for the lifetime of the author plus 70 years.
if copyright only lasts for 70 years from publication of anonymous works, then copyright for the nwt of the christian greek scriptures would be due to run out in a few years.
watchtower leaders probably don't like the idea of others being able to publish hard copies or circulate the nwt in ebook format.

One more notice regarding copyright:
The United States used to require copyrights to be renewed after 28 years to stay in force. ... Works published before 1964 that did not have their copyrights renewed 28 years after first publication year also are in the public domain.
To my knowledge, the WTBS has never renewed copyrights for any publications, that's why all their works up to 1963 can be freely downloaded from everywhere. There are also companies selling their scans of their old books.
So, to the 1950 and 1961 editions, neither the 70-year-rule nor the 95-year-rule apply, and of coures the 'last printing' doesn't matter at all. Both editions are already in the public domain since 1979 and 1990.

The Smoke and Mirrors of the Annual Meeting
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inthe annual meeting seems to boil down to an opening talk about an "exciting new" bible museum and a closing talk about an "exciting new" new world translation.
sandwiched in between were the wt summary, a talk about indoctrinating the children fast/furious, and some "trip down memory lane.".
why would this "spiritual feast" seem to be anticlimactic?

I agree, but the "official explanation" really puts the old NWT in a bad light. They are saying it was flawed, not in content, but in general readability.
Nooo .. people are simply more stupid nowadays. Previously, the old translation was "an accurate, easy-to-read translation of the Bible" (w08 6/15 p15). Back then, this was "present truth".
It was just during the year 2013 that people became so stupid that they can't read it anymore.

Likely they changed the color, instead of black on white the new Bible is printed gray on gray.
