before in my research...i watched some of his video's when he was a jw apoligist.
now he has da'd himself and is defending the scriptures, not jw's.. this is the first time ever that i actually am starting to think/beleive that jesus and jehovah are the same thing.
They do however fail to live up to the "strict monotheism" of say Deutero-Isaiah that Evangelicals commonly appeal to when debating with JWs.

JW apologists would not generally concede "strict monotheism" as you say, without first at least defining the term more broadly than most other Christians do.
Yes you're right. Besides, also more broadly than most other JWs do. The average JW doesn't know their own religion is not as montheist as they might think, or am I wrong on that?

sbf, How does the tabernacle relate to Christ's divinity? If one accepts that the bible teaches strict monotheism, as any JW apologist would do, it's difficult to believe in mormon-like lower divinities. The latter is called henotheism.

i heard a public talk last week that was all about evolution and how it dishonours god, and it struck me just how out of date and confused many of the ideas presented were.
the speaker used the old example of the giraffe's neck, but made the classic mistake of mixing up darwin's theory of natural selection and lamarckism by poking fun at the idea a neck stretched through use could be passed on to offspring.
i wondered how an otherwise intelligent person (as this speaker is) could make such an elementary mistake.. it occurs to me that the society has been writing less and less against evolution in recent years, so there is less up-to-date ammunition for brothers to draw upon in talks.

If the WTS drops its anti-evolution stance, I think it should be part of a larger paradigm shift towards (a more) liberal theology (which is unlikely at this stage). It would be a very very drastic change stirring the r&f.
