  I heard a story from an African immigrant who said once they (or someone they knew, can't recall) were in service walking up to a door, and a dog actually talked to them and told them to go away.

  When you compare between being 'poor' and 'well off', then absolutely you will be happier. This is because you don't have to worry about making ends meet, and you can enjoy life.
  
  There is a point of diminishing returns, where being 'very wealthy' adds little extra happiness. Then it becomes more about which Mercedes or BMW you buy, etc, etc... and you worry more and more about upkeep and losing possessions.

  lets have a free for all .

  i would say why dont you have a book study anymore but that one is done to death... we had a witness recently and i asked for the latest jw only mag (he didn't realise i used to be in his cong... have i done that good a job at fading?

  ) it was a laugh to see the two of them struggle to come up with an answer.... ok lets here the best you can come up with, there has to be some better than mine, what question will leave them stuck for an answer...... .

  Do you think it's fair that people in your territory will die because they simply turned down a WT or Awake magazine and never really knowing what the 'good news' is?
  
  Did you know that since most people reject the message, you are personally condemming people to death?
  
  Did you know that if you were to not preach, these people who never heard had the chance to hear the good news will be resurrected, and you will therefore actually save FAR more lives by not preaching at all?

  What Circumstances Cause Some to Decide to Fade or Disassociate ?

  this morning in seeing another poster going through this particular dilemma , i thought it would be good to open it up to open discussion to see what various situations occur in our lives that make us come to the decision to fade / or disassociate ?

  everybody has different circumstances in their lives - so one size certainly doesn't fit all .

  everybody has there pressure points in life they can deal with - some cannot.

  For me a number of issues caused all my beliefs to implode, but the major one was the worship of the WTS and the FDS. Every meeting, so many prayers gave more glory to the FDS than God or Jesus.

  The Book study gone.....what will we do now !!!

  what will we do when the persecution comes now that the book study arrangements is gone.. what a joke!

  for years the wts has being telling us that one of the purpose of the book study is that we can meet in small groups when the persecution starts, when we are banned the book study will be the only way that we can get our spiritual food and instructions from the governing body.. now how will get these vital instructions?.

  Why do they call it "The Truth" ?

  if the "truth" keeps changing shouldn't they call it "in search of the truth"?

  an orange is always an orange, and apple always an apple they do not change.

  so how is it "truth" can change?

  "Congregation Bible Study" - Name Change probably money motivated

  ok, just to beat this topic to death, i think the real reason for the book study amalgamation is actually the name change to congregation bible study.. there's got to be a gazillion catholic, protestant, presbyterian, anglican, methodist, united etc.

  churches that have alpha courses and bible study nights.

  and some light bulb has gone off in brooklyn so that the so-called governing body has finally caught on that they are the only religion without an actual 'bible' study meeting.

  I agree. I used to call it 'bible study' to friends and coworkers for this exact reason. 'Book study' just seemed too cultish...
