Elders wife says being upset with pedophiles in the hall being the same as having to eat sauerkraut and wieners.
by life is to short inthis couple in our hall an elder and his wife gave us a anniversary gift.
it is a wall hanging that says "as for me and my household sister life is to short and hubby will worship jehovah forever.".
i felt i should send her a thank you card even though i hate the gift.

metal health problems in the organisation
by looloo infor "the happiest people on earth" i found so many folk in the cong had depression or suffered with "nerves and axiety" there was one lad who was due to go and "work" in bethel and changed his mind at the last minute and spent nearly all his time on his computer in his bedroom from then on (he must of been on this site !he apparently "went schitsophrenic(dont know how to spell it sorry ) as did his sister and his poor mum was probably the most dedicated dub in the cong but was considered as a bit "bonkers" by all in the cong .
there were 3 elders i know of who had depression and many rank and file , i must admit it did make me question how "happy "being a dub would make me when i was a study and voiced my concerns i was told satan was trying to get them out the truth so they were depressesed or some rubbish like that , but i was also told that people who leave the truth are depressed because they dont have the truth !
you cant have it both ways !

rosepetal you have private message , i had doubts for a long time but what actually cured me was a elder declaring feelings for me , it was my "friends" dad and he was married and very strict and i was very shocked as i thought he liked me in a daughterly way ! anyway this elder had told the man who im now married to that he could never be with me and not to come back to meetings untill he was "over me" i realised it was very hypocritical of him and his elder advice had obviously not come from jehovah like i had been told , i was no longer scared of checking out the internet and did so and found a site like this , and the more i found out the better i got but will always regret getting involved for 7 years on and off and of course my daughter would not have been abused had i not met jehovahs happy people !

i knew a sister who would have made a wonderfull mum and wife
by looloo inbut she is now 45 , and has spent all her life sticking to the societys policy of only marrying in the "the truth" i saw her looking at my new baby with such longing and she said her baby would look just like her she was sure !
she has seen all her friends and younger sisters marry and have babys , i dont think she could cope if she knew the sacrifices she has made for the cult were all in vain , i also knew a lady of 86 who was very sweet and "mumsy" i asked why she had no children , she said she was waiting for the "new system" she died at 87 !.

tea drinker that reminds me of a sister who did the same thing ,putting jehovah first and refused a proposal from a well off worldly man , she encouraged me to do the same when i was struggling but i didnt , and guess what around 8 years later she caused a bit of gossip in the cong when she married the bloke suddenly who she had obviously loved all along , still married i think but has depression (always has though)

its amazing the amount of young girls who had left the cult and married some "worldly "bloke , then got divorced and ended up back in the cult thinking the only decent men in the world were in there , and ended up on their own for ever because of the lack of older men !

lost everythingi was one of those needing to believe in something and i agree with you x rosepetal , my heart goes out to you , i remember a trip to the shops in a daze of depression when i thought "going back " was the answer , when in fact it was the cause , my non jw dad even said "oh no why do you always press self destruct ,dear" when i said i was going back ! i hope that heartless bastard elder has depression now !
