for "the happiest people on earth" i found so many folk in the cong had depression or suffered with "nerves and axiety" there was one lad who was due to go and "work" in bethel and changed his mind at the last minute and spent nearly all his time on his computer in his bedroom from then on (he must of been on this site !he apparently "went schitsophrenic(dont know how to spell it sorry ) as did his sister and his poor mum was probably the most dedicated dub in the cong but was considered as a bit "bonkers" by all in the cong . there were 3 elders i know of who had depression and many rank and file , i must admit it did make me question how "happy "being a dub would make me when i was a study and voiced my concerns i was told satan was trying to get them out the truth so they were depressesed or some rubbish like that , but i was also told that people who leave the truth are depressed because they dont have the truth ! you cant have it both ways ! all i know is looking back on my life the only time i suffered from depression was the 7 years i was involved on and off with that cult , in fact i was even more depressed (and often even suicidal)than when i found out my child was abused by a ex jw i had met at the kingdom hall where i was lead to believe everyone was trustwourty ! are people mentally ill because of that cult or does it attract the mentally ill , i was very "normal" before i got involved .

by looloo in"living apart from the world" is a phrase used by jws to proove that they are "different to other faiths and therefore "right" because jesus said true believers would have "no part of the world" but as a study i never thought they did "live apart from the world as they would go out for a drink, to see a show (performed by worldley people ) go on holidays , claim benefits , work with worldley people / go to school etc when you were jws did you actually feel you were no part of the world ?
i think the amish and the flds really do "live apart from the world " but your average jw probably hasnt even heard of them !.

what have jws got against harry potter /smurfs
by looloo ini knew jws that watched cinderella and sleeping beauty ,snow white ,wizard of oz etc so why arnt they allowed to watch the more modern films with "magic" and "wizardery"in them?
it makes no sense , did anyone ever question that ?
on a different note i remember it being announced that the full monty was banned (you dont even see anything )lol.

jw grandparents miss my child
by looloo inmy mother received a phonecall from my jw motherinlaw (my mum is not a jw ) she said she would like our address , so she can send her son a get well card , she also said she misses our child who is now 6 and so does her non attendind meetings husband , she said she deserves to suffer but he does not as he dosnt go to meetings (not sure why she deserves to suffer , perhaps thats because she is jw and deserves to suffer because she has "the truth"!
) she told my mum that i would not let them see my child which really annoyed me as what i actually said was "that if her daddy wasnt welcome at their home (he is disfellowshipped) then im sure he would not want his daughter to go either , but i did not ban them from my home .
that was around about a year ago , we were just getting used to no contact even though my husband was very hurt , im not sure what to do now as they are apparently heart broken about not seeing her (even though it was because of them banning their son from the house last year that caused that ,and he was disfellowshipped 14 years ago !

As a jw ,what did you make of non dubs doing christ like things and showing compassion
by looloo infor example what did you think of bob geldof organising band aid and the hit single "do they know its christmas " and shows like children of courage about kids who may have cancer but still find time to raise funds for ill people , or someone rescues a stranger from a burning building without a thought for themselves , when bob geldof did what he did for the starving in ethiopia did you never wonder why "true christians " did not get involved ?
and did you ever feel confused that the kid with cancer would be for it come armageddon because his parents were not jws despite being a much nicer kid than you often observed at the kingdum hall ?.

i know what you mean , i experianced it also i had a pioneer "friend" who i studied with and she did loads to help me out but it was all based on me becoming a witness obviously , because when i gave her name to th police years later regarding the ex jw that abused my child (she had warned me about him when she thought he was after me and said she knew stuff about him ) she did not want to talk to the police and give a statement regarding that comment and the police told me that jws were not very helpfull to them !
