the official line is that victims are not discouraged from going to the police ! unfortunatly neither are they encouraged to either ! i really had to encourage my daughter to give a statement to the police about her abuse , in the end she agreed to do it to protect other children and not because she wanted "revenge!" or justice for herself ! but not bringing reproach on jehovahs name was all the elders were bothered about years earlier when my girls abuser was kept in the cong after abusing another girl !

a very common story , time and time again ! with nobody learning from past mistakes and more children getting abused because storys like this confirm to abusers that they will get away with it thanks to the elders wanting to keep it out the public eye ! disgusting , those poor children !

sounds similar to my daughters abuser , this makes me so angry ! hope that judge checks out if they have changed their policys on dealing with child sex abuse !!!!

but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

welcome , my heart goes out to you as i can identify with so much you have said , i had an affair as a study with a pioneer , i was a married woman with children and i was so messed up and wanted to go back to meetings ! the guilt , shame and humiliation nearly destroyed me ! years later my eldest child was abused and raped as a child by a ex min servant who had not been reported to the police after abusing in the congregation years earlier ! i have had to cope with her self harm and eating disorder and ptsd ever since so i understand how hard it must be for you and your husband im so sorry for you , if i can help in anyway just pm me , i still believe in god now but im a much happier person after doing research and realising i was fooled into thinking it was "the truth " just like many are , try reading books about people in other religions like not my idea of heaven by lynsey rosa . take care , best wishes looloo xxx
